The first church was built in 1831. The Reverend Wm. Hays preached at this church for many years. In 1839, Reverend John Fenton began services at the First Methodist Church in Perrysburg. On December 5, 1840, the Second Parish Meeting was held in response to a petition from residents of Perrysburg and neighboring towns asking for a parish meeting to be held to discuss their concerns about religious affiliation with other churches within the area. A committee was formed with Mrs. Eliza Jens as chairperson and Revs. Landon and Gentry as members to carry out this request. On January 8, 1841, a meeting was called to deliberate upon proceedings of the previous day when it was discovered that one Daniel Read had failed to appear for service on Sunday morning due to illness! It transpired that Daniel's only excuse was that he had gone into town for personal business! This created some concern among those attending about whether or not they should continue support him financially since he could no longer make good faith efforts towards piety! A decision was made by the committee not to pursue further legal action against MrRead but rather issue him an apology letter which can still be found outside of his old house today (rear window). On February 3rd1841 another petition from citizens of Perrysburg requesting representation at a state government meeting reached Governor David Ralston’s office after being forwarded from pastor Fenton through MrsJens . After careful consideration Governor Ralston appointed eleven men including himself who met on April 6th1841 at State House in Cincinnati Ohio undersecretary Hamilton Fish whereupon resolutions were passed authorizing organized worship within our limits!!!

Perrysburg is a small town in Union County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati metropolitan area. The name "Perrysburg" originates from the Shawnee word "Peryrty", meaning "place where people gather." The first settler in Perrysburg was James Crain, who arrived in 1796. The town was platted in 1807 by developers and settlers named John Cook and George Stephenson after General George Washington's victorious expedition that year through Ohio. In 1811, Perrysburg became the capital of what would eventually become Dayton Township. In 1911, a new post office called Perrysburg was established and remained in operation until it closed on September 15, 1954. The Beaver Dam Dam Dam Project developed along the Little Miami River near Perryburg and created some concerns about water quality for residents nearby; however, no serious problems were found during testing subsequent to its construction began in 1971-1972 as part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Watershed cleanup program following severe floods caused by Hurricane Andrew which struck Florida two years earlier. In 2002-2003, $10 million USD was invested into revamping downtown streetscape with new sidewalks and streetlights as well as resurfacing all public roads throughout Downtown Perrysburg since when it had been used as an open-air market place known for its annual pumpkin festival celebrated every November since 1978 which draws over 100 000 spectators/year making it one of America’s most popular tourist attractions attracting visitors from all over Ohio including Kentucky (the event’s original sponsoring state) .
