Perrysburg is a town in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Toledo Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Perrysburg were two families who came from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in 1793. They named their farm "Fenway" after Sir John Fenway (1684-1746), one of the original proprietors of Boston Common and an early leader of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. They also founded a gristmill on the river bank which still stands today and became known for its excellent flour that was exported to other parts of America. In 1814, Ezekiel Fryer bought land near present day Perrysburg from James Dickey for $1 per acre. He laid out a town square on this land and named it after his father-in-law Uriah Greenough (1763-1815), a Congregational minister who had served as pastor at nearby Springfield since 1793. In 1825, he donated another piece of land to the town for school purposes and built the first public building on it – a log cabin that served as courthouse until replaced by the current structure in 1868. After being established as a village in 1826, Perrysburg annexed more territory until it included all but modern downtown Toledo with a total population of 2,502 in 1840. On November 1, 1850, when territorial boundaries were adjusted following Ohio's admission into Confederation as United States of America, Perrysburg became part of what would become Wayne Township; however, due to community growth within Wayne Township over time it was renamed again to Perrysburg Township on February 1st 1902 when all township boundaries were changed statewide). The incorporation date for Perrysburg Township is unknown but most likely occurred on April 15th 1907 because that’s when local officials began issuing permits to build schools within township limits even though no such buildings had yet been constructed! On May 12th 1916 citizens voted 3-2 not to annex any additional territory outside township borders; this decision followed discussions surrounding an upcoming referendum on annexation which would have seen residents vote yes or no on whether or not to merge with neighboring Butler Township into what would eventually become Lima County! This referendum never took place because Butler Township Annexation Act No 592 was passed by Congress instead and clarified that only townships adjacent thereto could be annexed! In 1927 many residents decided they wanted their own post office so they organized themselves into an ensuing postal district which later became Lucas County Post Office #1 . However despite attempts by postmaster general Franklin Doidge Jr., efforts proved fruitless and mail service continued through Dayton PO Box 634 until October 1973 when Dayton switched its mail service back to Cleveland PO Boxes! With today’s technology we can understand how important it was for those early pioneers to have such great communication options available right here at home!

Perrysburg is a small town in Adams County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH metropolitan area. The first settler in Perrysburg was John J. Gibson, who arrived in 1814. He built a cabin on the banks of the Cuyahoga River and named it "Gibson's Grove." In 1825, he married Catharine (Katherine) Griggs and moved to what is now Perrysburg. Gibson died in 1831. His wife continued to live there until her death in 1840. One of John Gibson's grandsons, George Ransom Gibson, also founded Perrysburg and named it for his father-in-law’s birthplace - "Ransomstown". In 1830, William Purdy bought land from John Gibson and erected a log cabin on what is now Main Street near where modern day Park Road intersects it. Purdy called his settlement "New Perrysburg." In 1836 he sold his holdings to Abram French and began operating an ironworks on the site that became known as French's Mill Pond No. 2 (now Dutchkamp Lake). The mill operated until 1848 when it burned down due to an accident involving some forging tools used by French during production of cannons for the American Civil War. James Wirtz settled in Perrysburg around 1840 after moving from Cincinnati along with his family from Charlestown Township near Dayton Ohio according to one sourceWirtz had been born about 1795 or 1800[1] on land grant given to him by General James Ketchum during war with France (1794).[2][3] Another source claims Wirtz may have come from Windsor Township not too far away[4][5] before settling in North Adams Township which bordered Cincinnati.[6][7] After spending time traveling through many areas including Western Pennsylvania prior to arrivingin Ohio he decided upon this location based off its proximity to various waterways such as the Cuyahoga river,[8][9] parks like Butler Mills dam,[10][11], good farmland nearby,[12][13] easy access via wagonsroad[14], bituminous soil found throughout central Appalachia which made coalmining possible[15],[16], timber available on hillsides across boundaries of township starting with Yorktown Heights Block #2 going all the way upriver into Marietta County then along Ironton Line all the way down into Scioto County thence into Medina County then back upriver into North Adams Township finally landing here about two miles south east of current day Park Road intersection
Perrysburg was founded by John Perry in 1792. The town was originally named for General William Henry Harrison, the 7th president of the United States. In 1814, Perrysburg became a city and was renamed after Ohio's 14th governor, Richard M. Johnson.
