In 1934, the NRA changed its name to The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), in order to better reflect its mission of promoting gun safety and responsible firearm use. In 1976, NSSF merged with the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Institute (GMP) to become The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI). The Painesville Rifle and Pistol Club was organized in 1892. The club met at the home of C. H. Ballard, a rifleman from that community, until 1893 when they began meeting at the post office on State Street. In 1895, the club purchased their own building on Green Road which served them well until 1917 when they sold it to the United States Post Office Administration for use as a paper store. In 1922, the club built a new clubhouse on Market Street which still serves them today. The first annual meeting of the Painesville Rifle and Pistol Club took place on November 3, 1922 with Wm. Pyle presiding over the proceedings. From 1922-1927 there were only two annual meetings due to World War II; however, in 1927Club members voted to have an annual meeting per capita so that more residents could participate in order to keep better track ofclub progress and events! On October 1st, 1957 another new clubhouse was erected on Third Avenue in Painesville Township which has served them ever since!
Painesville, Ohio is a small town located in the heart of the United States. The population was 4,898 at the 2010 census, making it the smallest city in Ohio. Painesville is known for its Orchard Park Cemetery and its large reconstructed brick buildings dating back to 1892. The community was founded by John Fitzpatrick in 1836 as an agricultural settlement named North Bend on the right bank of the Muskingum River. The first post office was established in 1840 and Painesville became a village in 1881. In 1902, Painesville annexed part of neighboring Ashtabula Township and became one of seven townships in Stark County. The name change to Painesville took effect on July 1, 1903. Painesville's economy has been based primarily on agriculture until recent decades when manufacturing and services have become more prominent. Much of the town's architecture date back to this time including churches, schools, hospitals and other public buildings. Manufacturing has since declined but some businesses remain active such as Ford-Chrysler Automobiles Company which produces transmissions for pickups and SUVs as well as parts for many other vehicles According to the 2010 census, 3% of residents were foreign born; this number is down from 5% in 2000 but up from 2% in 1990. English is still spoken as a second language with over 60% being proficient in it according to 2011 Census data

Painesville, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Darke County. The population was 20,821 at the 2010 census. Painesville is located on the confluence of the Muskingum and Scioto Rivers, east of Cleveland and northwest of Cincinnati. It is part of the Akron–Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Painesville was James Irvine, who arrived in 1788 from Scotland with his family. He built a cabin near what is now downtown Painesville on the present site of State Route 231 (now US-Route 422). In 1814, he married Susannah Sellers, daughter of Nicholas Sellers and widow Anna Griggs; they would have four children. James Irvine died in 1818 without issue and Susannah sold her land to John Ayer for $1,000 cash plus 10 acres (4 ha) addition to their farmstead on which they erected a log cabin known as "Ayer's Grove." In 1825, John Ayer purchased 2 more acres (2 ha), making him oneof Greater Cleveland's earliest settlers. He became an early leader in developing Mechanicsville Township north of town - today's Zions Bank Park - where he developed mills that powered local transportation and commerce until his death in 1865 at age 92%. His son George Ayer continued this prosperity through much of the twentieth century; annual operations peaked at 25 mills in 1916 before declining rapidly due to technological advances and other economic constraints They also founded nearby Delaware Valley School District No. 9 which merged into Akron Local School District No. 5 in 1972 when that district was created from parts of two other school districts - Summit Local School District No. 4 and Holmesburg Borough School District No . 7 . For many years both schools were operated as separate entities but finally merged into one district under new management effective September 1st 2009 The first post office was established at Painesville by General David Henderson on October 15th 1827 The first store building there was designed by Uriah Morse & Sons who built it about 1830 Painesville had its heyday during prohibition with numerous speakeasies being opened including White Devil tavern c1900-1920 paine_sville
Painesville was founded in 1796 by General Washington and his troops as a trading post on the Scioto River. The town grew rapidly due to its strategic location, and in 1811 it became the capital of Ohio. In 1815, Painesville was renamed Youngstown after President James K. Polk. It served as the capital from 1825 until1829 when Cleveland took over. In 1846, the capital was moved to Toledo because of Political unrest in Indiana and Ohio over slavery and statehood. The city lost its status as a national capital following the American Civil War but regained it following Reconstruction. Painesville has been a small town since World War II when many residents moved away for jobs in Steel City or Cleveland.
