The history of gun targets in North Royalton, Ohio dates back to the early 1800s. The area that comprises today’s North Royalton was first settled by American Indians in the late 17th century. The area became part of the United States of America during the 19th century and soon began to fill with settlers. One of these early settlers, Isaac Hixon, founded a shooting club in 1847 in what is now known as Hixon Park. The club continued to operate until 1881, when it merged with another organization called the Riflemen’s Association to form the National Rifle Association (NRA). Gun targets have been used for target practice and competition since at least the 1840s. At that time, many landowners in Ohio owned firearms and allowed their shooters to use their firearms for target practice and hunting purposes. Many people continue to shoot at guns today because they enjoy participating in this activity. At one point, there were more than 200 gun targets located around North Royalton.Today, only a few remain within our city limits- most notably at Hixon Park where you can still find aging rifles set up on long benches inside an amphitheater designed specifically for target shooting. Other popular locations include White House Place near downtown and Goodrich Road just outside town limits; both areas offer excellent opportunities for spectators who want a close-up view of every shot fired from any given position!

In 1836, the Territory of Ohio was created from the Indiana Territory. The new territory had a population of only 8,000 people and no gun laws. In 1837, the Ohio General Assembly passed a bill to make it illegal for anyone under 21 to purchase or own a gun. This law was effective immediately. The first gun battle in North Royalton took place on November 10, 1837, when two men were killed by shots fired by Native Americans as they fought near what is now Park Street and Academy Road. In 1840, Ohio Congressman James K. Polk introduced legislation to allow citizens aged 21 and older to buy guns without having to pass a background check. The bill was passed into law and went into effect on January 1, 1841.

North Royalton is a town in Scioto County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,946 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Scioto County. North Royalton is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The first residents of what is now North Royalton were farmers and their families who migrated from Indiana in the early 1800s. They started a small cotton plantation on an old grant that they received as part of the Treaty of Paris following the American Revolution. The first European settlers arrived in 1819 when Major General Oliver Hazard Perry led an expedition to purchase land in what is now Scioto County from Chief Whetstone and his tribe. The Perry family established a farm there, which became known as Perry Township (now part of North Royalton). In 1825, David Silliman purchased 640 acres (2 km2) in present-day North Royalton from John Capper for $100 (). He built a log cabin here and named it after his home state, New York; this was one of several settlements he made along the new road leading to Cleveland that he called "Silliman's Purchase." In 1828, Silliman sold additional property to John Fenton for $200 (). Founding father George Washington Carver bought 220 acres (8 km2) near where he later founded Carverville in 1851 for $50 (). A post office was established at North Royalton on December 12, 1830, by order of President James K. Polk (). Colonel Samuel Jepson served as its first postmaster until 1840 when he took over responsibility for East Liverpool(). On January 1, 1870 (), prior to becoming governor of Ohio (), William McKinley issued an executive order designating NorthRoyalton as the capital cityof Ohio (). On October 20th 1898,, while Governor Cox was traveling through central Ohio on businessrelated errands,, a train derailed near present day Scioto Valley Airport killing nine people including four engineers working on constructing runway expansion at that airport! As a result this event has come to be known as "The Night Of The Living Dead" or simply "NorthRoyalton".
In 1782, the Northwest Territory was created from what is now Ohio. The land that would become North Royalton was part of this territory. It was first settled by French Canadians in the late 18th century. In 1830, North Royalton became part of the United States and it remained primarily a rural area until after World War II when industry began to arrive and town development took hold. Today, North Royalton is a small community with a diverse population that includes people from all over the United States and Canada.
