In 1862, after Union General Ulysses S Grant defeated Confederate General Robert Ewell at Battle of Gettysburg, North Ridgeville became one of three townships within Johnson County (the other two being Lebanon and Whitehall) under Union control following the end of the Civil War. In 1865, after Reconstruction ended in America,North Ridgeville voted to secede from Johnson County altogether and become an unincorporated community named Mount Vernon until it merged with neighboring Whitehall in 1968. Throughout its history,North Ridgeville has seen many changes due to its location within Johnson County including population growth (from around 500 people during World War II to over 12000 by 1990), development (including both housing developments such as Mount Vernon Place subdivision and businesses such as American Rubber Company), infrastructure needs (such as new schools, fire stations, airports), political events (such as local elections held every five years), natural disasters (such as devastating tornadoes that struck portions of Johnson County in 1985), and economic changes (such as increased truck traffic).

North Ridgeville, Ohio is a small town located in theuy of Summit County, Ohio. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. North Ridgeville is bordered by Summit Township to the north, Findlay Township to the east, and Willoughby Township to the south. It has a total area of 17.6 square miles and is about 16 miles from Cleveland. The economy of North Ridgeville is based on agriculture which includes cattle, pigs, chickens, eggs, flour and other products. There are also a few businesses that provide services such as personal care and grocery shopping. The original settlers in this area were farmers who came from Pennsylvania in 1814 and 1815. They started out near what is now Uniontown but soon moved westward into what is now North Ridgeville because they thought it would be easier to get food here than in Akron or Canton which were then very much underdeveloped areas with little opportunity for people of color. In 1865 when Ohio became a state there was no city within its borders so West Side Settlement – as it was called – was formed by combining parts of two other towns: Northridgeville and Thornburg (now part of Mahoning Heights). This settlement prospered for many years until development outside the town began to overtake it; however, residents have kept their community spirit alive by maintaining close ties with their old town roots even though they live more than 100 miles away! Today’s North Ridgeville takes its name from two pioneer families who settled there:the Nilesons (who arrived in 1837) and Griggsons (who arrived in 1850). Mrs. Anna Nileson founded an orphanage here which continues to serve children today; her husband built a schoolhouse which still stands today as one of the most impressive examples of early 20th century architecture in this area! The Griggsons homesteaded land adjoining their own home on High Street where they operated a grocery store until 1861 when they sold it to Ebeneezer Paige Jr., one of America’s first millionaires! Mr. Paige donated his property (now known as Old Northgate Shopping Center) along High Street back into government ownership for use as an education center during World War I before selling it again to Mr./Mrs.–Edwin Ladd who ran it until his death in 1984! After being vacant for nearly 25 years Ladd's heirs decided to demolish all but one building on OldNorthgate & open up shop inside-out–a significant event given that prior thereto there had been only limited window retailing!! Today visitors can explore over 40 rooms filled with history including toolsheds dating back 400+ years & an extensive collection of artifacts from local Native American cultures

North Ridgeville, Ohio is a town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,865 at the 2010 census. North Ridgeville is located on the West Branch of the Muskingum River. It lying along Route 33 between Napoleon and Findlay and north of I-71 and I-75. The first white person to live in what is now North Ridgeville was Abram Cuyler in 1814. He and his family were pioneers who named their new community after General George Rogers Clark's home state of Virginia, which they had just crossed into from Canada. In 1835, John Keyes settled here with his family following the removal of many settlers from East Liverpool Township in Holmes County because of the American Civil War. By 1840 there were over 50 homes in North Ridgeville and it boasted a schoolhouse (dedicated by Mr. Keyes), three churches (one Baptist/Congregationalist, one Methodist/Atheistic Alliance, one Presbyterian), two stores (owned by keyes' brother Ebenezer), as well as several related businesses including a blacksmith shop and grist mill run by Noble Neeves. In 1855, North Ridgeville became part of Butler Township when that township was created from parts of Holmes County east of the Muskingum River by order of Congress under territorial government law following Indian Removal operations begun under President James Kansa in 1830s that resulted in more than 500 homes being burned or looted across Butler County including those built near present day Northridgeville during an event known as "The Great Fire" which destroyed most homes within days near what are now Market Street and Elm Street NW; this included keyesville also burned with sparing only 3 people killed including Mrs Keyes' son Ebenezer Keyes who organized a volunteer fire brigade to help put out the blaze . Afterward residents voted to keep their own name but change their townbrand to "North Ridgeville" This act represented another victory for local self-government over outside control during times when western settlement encroached upon traditional Native American villages such as East Liverpool Township where landowning families controlled much land often through gift or tax payments made to chiefs . In 1860 voters approved a charter for what would become Northwest Territorial College which opened its doors 9 months later followed by more than 1,000 residents moving into new houses erected along Elm Road NW just south of today's intersection with US 23; this area still contains some early college buildings while much development has taken place elsewhere since then including hundreds more residences within 10 miles northwest on I-271 serving as bedroom communities for workers commuting into Cleveland while also providing access to all types educational opportunities throughout northeast Ohio According to 2000 census figures reported courtesy Northeast Ohio Regional Planning Commission - nearly every household in Northwest Territorial College District served at some point during that decade regardless aircraft service distance – making it one college district among many concentrated along seven Interstate highways across Northeast Ohio offering rapid transportation accessibility - quite unique among colleges operating anywhere near population centers!
