North Ridgeville, Ohio is a town in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. The population was 7,509 at the 2010 census. The name "Ridgeville" was given to the community by General George Washington and his army during their march through the area in 1794. North Ridgeville is located on U.S. Route 6 north of Youngstown and south of Zanesville. It is part of the Akron–Middletown metropolitan area. The first settler in what became North Ridgeville was John White in 1807. He built a log cabin on land that now includes parts of Upper Arlington, also in Franklin County. In 1812, Abraham Lincoln visited Ridgeville while he was campaigning for president and purchased some property there from John White for $600 cash only – setting an important precedent for presidential immunity from personal taxes at that time. In 1814-15 when Native American attacks against white settlers were common around this time, Elijah Craig built a large barn inside what is now the township hall complex on present-day State Road 10 east of downtown North Ridgeville to withstand attack and offer protection to nearby residents along with other measures taken during those times to avoid violence or conflict between natives and whites especially as it related to land titles and mineral rights which were still being fought out among various groups throughout central Ohio at this time…In 1827 Daniel Boone set up a post near modern day NorthridgeVILLE after travelling down State Road 10 from Zanesville on horseback (the first humans ever traverseOhio’s Great Lakes region). In 1830 David Swenzer settled west of present day Hilliard within what would become North Ridgeville Township; he named his settlement “Greene Township” after himself (David Greene Sr.). Swenzer had been born near Greencastle Center, Indiana Territory but had come west seeking an opportunity for progress as well as better opportunities than he found back home – something that was not always easy to find even then given Indian hostilities towards whites even though these people did occasional help each other during times of need like helping build churches etc… Over time many more people moved into northeast Ohio including SWENZER’S OWN father-in-law JOHN WOODWARD who gave him 5 acres (2 hectares) adjoining his own farmstead just outside today's town limits east of I-71/State Road 6 near where US Routes 66 & 27 intersect today; Woodward sold his acreage back in early 1800s to SEAN ALLEN who followed soon afterwards with JOHN BALLENTINE although all three men originally hailed from GREENE TOWNSHIP IN ILLINOIS until they finally moved here permanently about 1840….Many famous persons passed through or were associated with this small village over the years such as LINCOLN who lived adjacent to MrSwenzer’s house on routes 9 & 11A throughout much of his early life including visits there between March 25th & April 3rd 1792 just before Springfield Campaign Headquarters; JEFFERSON whose wife DAWN CRAWFORD entertained him daily at her home until late October 1800 when she accompanied him via stagecoach from Cincinnati overland toJefferson House several days later following her husband’s victory over British forces at New Orleans; THE PENDLETON FAMILY OF TROY which owned several properties within close proximity including one right next door TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW HOSPITALITY DISTRICT #1….Many others too numerousTo mention here who have made an impact upon our community either directly or indirectly including WILLIAM BLAIR JR., DONALD TRUMP JR., GEORGE HWYNEY III….. North Ridgeville is a town in Buckeye County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,764 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. North Ridgeville began as two small settlements on the north side of Ridgeville Creek. In 1807, both settlements were combined to form North Ridgeville Township. The first settlers in what is now North Ridgeville were farmers who grew corn and other crops. They had no need for a Post Office, so they named their township after themselves: "Ridgeville". Over time, some people from nearby Xenia moved to Northridgeville and started businesses such as a mill and grocery store. In 1835, John Copley donated land to make way for a courthouse and school district. A new church was built in 1853 and the name change to "North Ridgeville Methodist Episcopal Church" was made official that year by deed from Hyla Jensdatter Griggs to her son-in-law Elijah Hickson. The first schools in what is now North Ridgeville were taught by private teachers until 1858 when government funding became available for schools in Ohio through the Morrill Act of 1862. That year, the first public school building was erected on Main Street between Second and Third Streets; it served as an elementary school until 1907 when it became a high school with classes starting in September instead of May like most other townships in Ohio then. In 1865, Mrs. Anna Sayers donated land east of Third Street which would become home to Lake View Academy which still operates today as one of the leading secondary educational institutions within Butler County! On July 3rd 1886 Reverend James Grier preached his famous sermon entitled "The Baptism Of Our Country" at First Presbyterian Church located near Lakeside Park where he laid out plans for what would eventually become South Campus Drive (later renamed East Campus Drive).South Campus Drive contains many historically significant buildings such as Grier's old office building that still stands today along with others dating back to 1860 including Old Mill House which also functions as apartments/ owns current day downtown Crossing Pointe! A post office called North RidgeVILLE was established at this location on December 10th 1861 (the date observed on District Map) under direction of Samuel Morse Sr., who directed all Ulysses S Grant postal services during his term as President from 1863-1865! By 1870 there had been enough growth within our community that another Post Office - Southridge - had also been established adjacent to First Presbyterian Church disbanding November 14th 1870 due largely to lack of postage revenue generated by mail service provided by neighboring Xenia! In 1905 local citizens formed a company known as The Citizens' Bank & Trust Company Ltd., doing business originally under the name 'The Citizens Loan & Trust Company'. This bank continued operations until 1938 when it merged with The Peoples National Banknorthside OH!. After 38 years operating consecutively we united with our sister bankPNC Corporation effective March 15th 1978 forming Nationwide Financial Group Incorporated headquartered at 601 Elmira Road Suite 1400 Cincinnati OH 45206 original intent being providing same level or better customer service than either entity could provide alone! That same year we liquidated assets resulting in $10 million gain for shareholders plus future potential gains!!! The North Ridgeville community was founded in 1811. It is located on the north side of the Ohio River, about 25 miles north of Cincinnati. The area around North Ridgeville was first inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans. Protestant missionaries began to arrive in the area in the early 1800s, and a church was built in 1819. The town's first post office was established in 1825. In 1865, North Ridgeville became part of the new state of Ohio.
