This included northward extending part of High Street from its current terminus near Westchester Junction to just south of I-670/I-675 where it would cross over into present-day North Monroe Township; eastward extending part of this street from its current terminus near Elmira Road to just south of Trumbull Road; and southeastward extending part of this street from its current terminus near Maple Lane to just south of Commerce Road. On October 20, 1840 Forrest submitted an application for incorporation as a village bylaws were adopted that noted: "It has been well impressed upon our mind that there are not too many people situated within convenient distance who desire any kind or degree Improvement here". That same year he also applied for patent 3,252 feet (1,020 m) long and 100 feet wide by 52 feet deep (15 m × 15 m), which would have become known as Forrestland Park after him. He received authorization to begin construction on November 8 but never reached completion because he faced financial troubles caused by bad loans he took out prior to becoming governor in 1840 and during his term as president pro tempore United States Senate Charles Sumner fought against him . A new bridge was constructed over the Scioto River between present day Trumbull Road eastbound lanes and westbound lanes about two miles northwest adjacent to Forrestland Park between 1938-39 when it replaced an earlier roadbridge that dated back to 1827–28 when two toll roads crossed over the river northbound only one lane wide with no sidewalks or public transportation available..
