Niles is a small town in Niles Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1825 by Captain John Fisk and his family. The first gun barrel made here was a 8-inch (20 cm) diameter round barrel made of hardwood. The town's start came about because of the demand for guns to fight Indians at the time. In 1856, Captain Fisk built the first sawmill in Niles and soon started making barrels for other businesses as well. By 1865, the town had grown to over 100 people and its two churches were also becoming popular places of worship. The economy of Niles changed with the arrival of railroads in 1870 and 1875. With more goods coming into town and fewer jobs available, many people left town during those years. As railroad construction passed through Niles on their way to new towns or markets, it became difficult for residents to keep up with production changes, leading to some decline in population over time. However, overall there has been steady growth throughout these years as various businesses have opened up aroundtown and new residents have moved in - all helping make this an important community today!

The first Guns in Niles, Ohio were built by Captain James H. Sullivan in 1836. He was the founder and first editor of The Blade, a local paper that played an important role in the early development of Niles. Captain Sullivan also founded the Niles Rifle Club, which is still active today.
Niles is a city in the US state of Ohio. The population was 57,521 at the 2010 census. It is the fifth-largest city in Ohio and the second-most populous city within Greater Cleveland. The site of Niles was chosen as the hometown for George Washington in 1797 and it was renamed Niles after its first mayor, Nathanial Niles, in 1824. The first post office opened in Niles on July 1, 1827. In 1854, a railroad station was built west of town to serve residents travelling eastward on the Erie Canal. By 1870, most of what is now downtown Niles had been developed and it became an industrial center with manufacturing companies such as Cuyahoga River Iron Works, Americanigmatics Corporation (now known as GEO Group), and Cement Company of America. However, during World War II many small businesses were destroyed by bombed raids or shortages caused by wartime production restrictions. After the war ended there were layoffs at many factories but overall business continued to grow thanks to new investment from developers such as John Dorney and Richard Mathers. Downtown Niles experienced another growth spurt beginning around 1990 when malls began opening up throughout central Ohio which added more jobs into the mix while also drawing people away from downtown for shopping purposes; this growth has continued unabated even as economic conditions have tightened throughout much of Ohio since then. The current skyline of downtown Cincinnati can be seen looking down on both parts of downtown Niles – one side towards Old Town Square where all sorts of stores are spread out beneath an impressive skybridge spanning over a river that snakes lazily through town centre; and the other side towards Quicken Loans Arena where newer buildings line either side of Broad Street between Fifth Avenue and Ninth Avenue – making it easily possible to see how quickly different parts of town are changing both physically and economically due to continuous development right next door! All told there are now over twenty thousand residents living within two blocks or lessof virtually everything that makes up downtown Cincinnati – something that can only be called “the power village”!

Niles is a town in Niles County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,890 at the 2010 census. It has been part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area since 1973. The name of the town was derived from Nicholas de Niles, a French general who fought in the American Revolution and later served as Ambassador to France. The first permanent settler in what is now Niles Township was John Pemberton on May 12, 1793. He built a log cabin on the banks of Muskingum River. In 1814, George Washington passed through the town on his way to battle at Lake Erie. A post office called Niles was established in 1817 and remained in operation until 1907. In 1824, David Hackett developed land near present-day Niles for a cotton gin and mill which he named Hackettstown. The first steamboat dock in that area was built here by Captain James Kuehn about 1830; it became known as "Hackett's Landing". In 1837, Samuel Morse established his telegraph line from Pittsburgh to Cleveland along this same route and named his station "Morseville". Morse relocated his equipment and headquarters to what is now downtown Akron after receiving authorization from Congress to do so in 1839; this marks the beginning of commercial broadcasting history in Akron. By 1840, there were over 20 businesses operating within 1 mile (1 km) of downtown Akron! In 1870-71, Elisha Gray platted what is now centralowntown Niles with lots that had been donated by Major General Gabriel Logan (1811-1875). This portion of today's city center dates back to that time when most of downtown consisted of open fields or farms with few buildings other than farmsteads/houses scattering around them throughout central township (now portions of each individual municipality). By 1900 there were only two churches left standing among an estimated total community consisting then of some 590 residences – an all time low for such an important
