This type of mounting offers great flexibility since it means you can change magnification levels or focus without having to remove your entire optic! However, there are several drawbacks associated with hot shoe mounts: firstly, they tend not To be very stable when firing; secondly, if something falls off (e.g., lunch box), your scope may get scratched or damaged – significantly increasing chance for inaccuracy; lastly, these mounts tend notTo be very durable – eventually wearing down over time so make sure you have good care for them before putting them through regular use

This product became known as the Winchester Scope Mount Adapter and eventually led to development of today'sogue scopes mounts!
