In 1916, the US Patent No. 2,521,856 was issued to George Fenton for a handgun with an illuminated Picatinny rail on top of it which allowed the use of gun lights while hunting game animals. This innovation helped increase public acceptance ofgunlights as a means ofTargeting firearms. In 1934, US Patent No. 3,057,646 was issued to John Trenchard for a design for an illuminated target pistol which used two small LED lamps to emit green and red light respectively at a distance of 300 yards or less when fired from a firearm with an appropriate muzzleloader magazine installed onto it

Mount Vernon is a village in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,846 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Mount Vernon was Nicholas Negreanu, who arrived in 1796. He and his family were among the earliest American settlers in what would become Cuyahoga County. Negreanu's grandson, John Negreanu, also became an early settler and built one of the first homes in Mount Vernon on the present site of Old Town Square. In 1814 John Negreanu married Mary White whose family had come from Boston to pioneer this area. Thenegreanus lived on their land until they sold it to Joseph Medill in 1834. One of the most important aspects of Mount Vernon's history is its role as home to both President George Washington and his wife Martha Washington during their time as U.S citizens. Manyof America's finest architects were trained here including James Kapp (the original planter), Christopher Wren (founder of Stonington School), and Isaac Watts (founder of Canandaigua Academy). In addition, many prominent leaders in business and politics have found refuge or political office here over time such as Lewis Cass (Ulysses S., Jr.), Grover Cleveland (Ulysses S., Sr.), Warren Harding (William McKinley), Franklin D Roosevelt (FDR), Lyndon Johnson (LBJ), and Donald Trump Jr.(Donald John Trump). Mount Vernon is also known for its annual pumpkin Festival which takes place on October 25th each year since 1861

Mount Vernon was founded in 1785 by General George Washington as a military encampment on the southern border of Ohio. The site served as a summer home for the general and his family until 1801, when he moved permanently to Alexandria, Virginia. The area became known as Arlington Heights and was used for military purposes until 1931 when it was annexed by Chicago. The settlement of Mount Vernon, Ohio began in the early 1800s as a small group of farmers who traveled from Kentucky to purchase land in what is now Beaver County. The first permanent settler at Mount Vernon was Isaac Watts, who arrived in 1805. Other early settlers included John Brown and James Ketchum. In 1824, Isaac Watts's grandson, Elijah Porter, organized the First Baptist Church at Mount Vernon. In 1827, the Methodist Episcopal church was also founded at Mount Vernon. Over time, other denominations such as the Baptist and Presbyterian churches joined the Methodist church. Mount Vernon became a thriving community during the 19th century due to its excellent location for agriculture and trade. It was also an important stop on stagecoach routes between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. In 1893, Mount Vernon lost its status as a town after it became part of the new city of Cleveland. However, it regained its importance as a center for agricultural production and trade during the 1920s and 1930s thanks to World War II efforts by Cleveland officials to revive local industries. During this time, Mount Vernon experienced several major changes including the construction of Interstate highways connecting different parts of Ohio; increased development around it due to postwar suburbanization; and professional growth within its ranks due to advances in technology that have made Mt Vernon one of the most digitally Enabled Communities in America
