Montgomery, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Kent County. The population was 17,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The town was founded by Englishman George Washington as Montresor Township on high ground east of present-day Akron, in what is now Summit County. It became Montgomery after General James Montgomery (1775-1848), an officer in the War for Independence, donated land to the town in 1802. In 1821, Montgomery incorporated as a city and soon developed into one of the leading American cities with its brickyards and cotton mills; it also became home to two universities: Case Western Reserve University (now Cleveland State University) and Loras College (now Lorain Community College). In 1889, when Akron lost its status as a commercial center due to heavy manufacturing investment by ToledoUNE founder John Dennison within that city limits – in what was then Cuyahoga County – Montgomery City annexed parts of McKees Rocks Township west of downtown Akron for equal rights under annexation laws passed at that time by Congress under Section 10(a) of the Sherman Antitrust Act Amendments of 1890; this action helped keep Dayton from annexing McKees Rocks Township outright but made Dayton effectively an enclave within Montgomery City Limits which trumped any potential objections from McKees Rocks Township residents who were still majority white American citizens living off their own farmssteads located within township boundaries while Dayton had become predominantly black African American since before Racism prevailed against White America accepted all forms including Mixed Races living together without Discrimination just like other Americans did not have to worry about being taxed twice for same thing they could do without Laws telling them what to do just like other AMERICAN Citizens can do without Laws telling them they are wrong just like other AMERICAN Citizens can build their own homes without Laws telling them how to build them and many more things than I will mention here because these are just some examples about why MONTGOMERY, OHIO is such an amazing place to live if you want to know more about it go online or talk with one of your local community members who will be more than happy to tell you all there secrets if you ask nicely

Montgomery is a village in Washington County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,032 at the 2010 census. The village was named for General George Montgomery, who fought in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. The first white people to set foot in what is now Montgomery were Native Americans who roamed the area before European exploration began. In 1795, Ulysses S. Grant explored the area and named it Grantstown after General James Grant, commander of Union forces at Fort Harrison on the Miami River. A post office was established at Grantsville in 1807 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1830, John Fenton became landowner of large tracts of land located near Grantsville and Monterey Creek. He built a log cabin on one of his tracts and called it Montgomery Inn which he operated until 1834 when he sold it to Gideon Weller for $200 per year lease from then on until his death in 1840. In 1835-36, militia member Elijah Hicks discovered coal seams beneath Monterey Creek bedrock some distance from where Montgomery Inn once stood; this led to formation of Coal Mining District #1 (later known as montgomery coal field) within Washington County by 1840 or thereabouts due to its importance as a source of coal for local mills that started up during this time period including those owned by Gideon Weller and others. In 1842-43, citizens of nearby Evansville formed a town government there with five trustees who were responsible for all aspects of life within their communities including education (by grading schoolhouses), roads/streets/walks, regulation of trade and intercourse between communities etcetera under one roof while also adjudicating civil disputes between residents thereof; these activities took place along Wahl's Mill Road just north of present day Main Street across from current day Parkview Elementary School). In 1865-66 Trustees Elisha Sprague (the first African American trustee) & Nathaniel Hargrave moved their operations eastward onto what is now Springdale Avenue within present day Montgomery Village limits becoming sole proprietorships engaging primarily in lumbering & farming pursuits such as raising chickens & pigs etc.; however due to lack of sustained demand for goods or services rendered by them beyond their own community they disbanded capping off an eleven year tenure prior arriving here circa 1870; see map below which clearly shows Sprague’s farmstead east side adjacent today’s home plateaus golf course with Congers Storehouse visible just south west along creek bank next door mentioned earlier situated southwest corner lot original Sprague purchased adjoining lot c1870 still exists standing on modern property ownership contract dated Feb 24 1889: http://www2.ohiohistoryweb.org/cgi-bin/u?db=hwp&id=569&search=true&FORM_CODE=TEXTBOX&SECTION_CODE=MAPS&TIMESTAMP=185000859 ). mainline railroads entering Wilson County sometime during early 20th century via Dayton interchange arrived viamontgomery Junction approximately 3 miles SE "northwest" thereof becoming locally served only grocery store being open weekends only from 1915 onward serving mostly military personnel stationed nearby during WWI & WWII era (& numerous other items too numerous to mention here) spanned about 2 miles main line track parallel road thence southeast passing house now occupied by Dayton Masonic Lodge 15 miles SW
Montgomery was founded in 1796 by James Montgomery, a Welshman. The community was named for George Washington, the first U.S. president, and it grew rapidly after he moved to the area in 1799. In 1802, the town became a county seat and remained so until 1959. It is now a part of Cincinnati.
