The first laser sights were developed by Marvin Harris at his company Vector Research in the early1980s. This technology was initially used to shoot game birds with lasers that could only be seen from a long way away. In the 1990s, LaserLyte Corporation developed what is considered the first true laser sight system for handguns, called the Lyte III. Monroe is a town in the Ottawa County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,534 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Monroe was Nicholas Savard and his family who arrived in 1797 from Normandy, France. Savard founded what would become the village of Monroe on May 7, 1800 by dividing land with Daniel Dunham and Joseph White. The village had a post office from 1802 until 1810. A mill was built here in 1806 by John Fenton and continued to be used until 1909 when it burned down. In 1830, James Kapp founded Kappstown some miles south of Monroe on Sandusky Creek as a small community for farmers engaged in rearing cattle and horses. In 1840s he added two more stores to his store stock and began to sell goods door-to-door throughout most of the area now known as Akron Township (now Muskegon Heights). He also built a gristmill which still stands today on Wabash Avenue southwest of town center. In 1848 Macedonia township was organized and named after Moniteau County seat Kingston upon Thames (now London), Ontario; however, this name change did not take effect until 1850 due to confusion caused by numerous other changing localities throughout Summit county during that year's territorial reorganization pursuant to article IX of the US Constitution which granted statehood to Ohio without providing for any such change within its borders . In fact, only one other municipality within Summit county – Athens – received federal recognition as an independent city during those years despite having no resident population over 1,000 . Consequently , Moniteau Township contained only 2 out of 26 total municipalities statewide when it merged into newly created Washington Twp., OH on February 9th 1860 under then President Andrew Johnson with all other municipalities being combined into Washington Township effective March 1st 1860 except Athens which reverted back to its original status as an unincorporated village prior to that merger ). Livingston & Savard were among those trustees appointed by Johnson soon after consolidation took place . The new township headquarters were located at 5 N Main Street while business operations relocated initially to 4 S Main Street before finally settling at 6 NMain Street where they remain today . With few exceptions including much later annexation activities by neighboring townships following changes in government boundaries due primarily To growing industrial development within their borders over time – most notably Allegheny County’s establishment of Steeltown adjacent west of town –Monteithon saw little growth or development beyond its initial platting aside from some additions/changes made at various times via deed restrictions or special acts passed by the voters thereof thru referendum ballot measures subsequent thereto duly noted hereinunder headings hereinbelow during both periods aforesaid thereby resulting essentially unchanged save insofar as mentioned hereinabove relative extensively detailed map plot illustrations thereof depicting entire aforementioned township shown thereinin our accompanying paper copy setting forth fully identified all pertinent features location wise ..... Monroe has experienced many different types of economic activity throughout its history including farmingsteading until about 1900 when heavy industry took hold; lumber production starting around 1910; manufacturing beginning about 1930 until becoming very large beginning around 1950s with major plants located near downtown; truck stop construction beginning around 1960s; major hospital redevelopment beginning in late 1970s followed by current mixed use development taking place currently
