Middletown was first settled in 1788 by Captain James Cook and his crew on their way to the Pacific Ocean. They named the town after Sir John Holmberg, a Danish explorer who had visited the area in 1698. The first store in Middletown was built on Market Street in 1828. In 1834, the Ohio General Assembly passed an act which provided for school districts within each township. Middletown's School District #2 was formed in 1835 and became one of the larger school districts in Ohio. The land that is now part of Middletown was purchased from the Village of Greenfield by J H Mason and others in 1855. In 1870, a post office call sign was given to Middletown as “Great Britain’s Liverpool” because of its location on Great Britain’s main mail route from Liverpool to Cincinnati. In 1916, during World War I, President Wilson ordered all American troops sent overseas be issued with military identification cards bearing his photograph and name. A special card for soldiers serving in Europe was created and designated as "The Holster." On October 15, 1916, The Ohio State Journal reported that "A new holster company has been established at Middletown by Capt D F Purdy with orders from our president." This new company became known as "Dirty Harry's holster company". Captain Purdy continued producing holsters until he died in 1954. His son-in-law Donny O'Malley continued production until 1986 when it changed hands once again to another family member - current owner Rick Steves - who continues manufacturing today under the same name (Rick Steves Manufacturing). Another thing you should keep in mind when buying a holster is whether or not you want something designed specifically for pistols or revolvers only. swivel clips generally work great on revolvers but do not work as well on pistols so if this is something that interest you then look into getting one specific type of clip rather than just any random one! The city became aetta in 1868 and an incorporated municipality in 1903. Middletown is located on the Scioto River, about 25 miles south-southwest of Cleveland.

Middletown is located on the west bank of the Monongahela River and is bordered by West Chester to the north, Findlay Township to the east, and Fairfield Township to the south. It is part of Metro Manila in the Philippines. The first permanent settler in what would become Middletown was George Waddell in 1814. He established a logging camp on land that would later be bought by John Denton and developed into what is now downtown Middletown. In 1819, David Hockley purchased some additional land from Waddell and opened a tavern called The Girdle which became an important stop for travelers on their way to Cincinnati. In 1827, James Monroe built a cabin near what is now Market Square while he was visiting friends in Middletown. Monroe continued business at his cabin until he relocated permanently to Washington County two years later when he opened his own mercantile store at 6 Elm Street in Fairfield Township. During prohibition era (1888-1920), many businesses closed due to raids by Ulysses S Grant's Secret Service agents looking for bootleg whiskey being sold within Middletown limits. Many residents turned out in support of prohibitionists during this time period as they believed that Prohibition would help reduce alcohol consumption and crime rates throughout America. MiddletOWN also experienced significant growth during World War II with its employment opportunities increased thanks to war production activities such as manufacturing munitions, aircraft parts, shipbuilding materials and food processing products. After V-E Day (1945), many soldiers returned home and began rebuilding their lives after serving abroad; however, much of this infrastructure had already been dismantled prior to war's end including most of downtown Middletown's central business district which remained vacant through most of postwar decades save for occasional use as a dumping ground for wartime debris or as housing for post-war immigrants who had arrived in town during those years without registering with local authorities. During late 1960s thru early 1970s there were several high profile outlaw motorcycle gangs operating out of various buildings/areas around town periphery including one associated with La Cosa Nostra boss Lou Albano; however these days things have largely stabilized back into more normal levels since then although there have been occasional flareups especially around major events like Columbus Day or football games involving rival gangs from adjacent towns etcetera
