Middletown, Ohio is a small town in theU.S. state of Ohio that is part of the Cleveland-Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 15,591 at the 2010 census. Middletown is named after David Middletown, an early settler in what is now the city of Cleveland. The first guns were brought over by English settlers in 1795 and were used to shoot deer on property then owned by Miami County Sheriff James Ketchum. In 1836, Colonel John Sibley purchased land east of Middletown and began to build a home there called "The Hill". He imported two cannons from England and they stood guard outside his home until he died in 1849. In 1857, Daniel Webster became Governor of Ohio and ordered all firearms be destroyed statewide because he felt they were being used to overthrow American democracy. Some local gunsmiths managed to keep some weapons but most of the guns were melted down and scrapped. A few rifles still survive today including one owned by Mayor Frank Jackson who donated it to Middletown Historical Museum in 1984. A bill was passed in Congress which authorized President Ulysses S Grant to issue executive orders prohibiting slavery within three months of their inauguration; this order was specifically targeting African Americans living near free black towns and cities like Cincinnati, Detroit, Indianapolis (which also served as freedmen's stations), Baltimore City (then known as Annapolis), Wilmington Delaware etc.. This measure effectively ended any chance for slaveowners south of the Mason-Dixon line to maintain their holdings without internationally sanctioned condemnation from Washington D C . The order led directly to the1861 Civil War when Confederate forces moved against Union forces stationed north at Springfield Armory along with other arsenals across the border in Maryland & Virginia . As a result of these events many white men who had previous ownership or access to firearms acquired them during Reconstruction efforts such as Jim Crow laws allowing African Americans only limited access through means such as public employment or purchase limitations under Freedman's Bureau regulations except for shotguns/rifles which could be bought by whites only if registered with agents controlled by Whites Middletown experienced its share too; each year around Christmas time alone dozens would commute into town for various businesses related either directly or indirectly to gun sales: sporting goods stores such as Brownells, American Eagle Outfitters etc., ammunition dealers Harpers Ferry Arms Company and others...Allowing residents unfettered access not justto handguns but any type military rifle or shotgun available made life much more difficult especially since law abiding citizens generally stored pistols locked up inside homes rather than risk having them confiscated Even though prohibition expired nine years later on July 1st 1865 following an effort spearheaded by Democratic Congressman George Whitehall Middletown actually did become one Of 23 communities located within 10 miles of Cleveland which were required(along with 38 other municipalities)to implement Castle Doctrine Laws protecting citizens from self-defense based solely upon knowledge that crime has been committed

MIDDLETOWN TODAY: With over $200 million dollars worth of investment being made Downtown since 2007 alone there has been an increase in business activity throughout all facets of life for both locals and visitors alike! Middletown was founded in 1795 by postmasters John and Rebecca Green. The first store opened in 1798. Middletown became a town in 1821. The first school was built in 1824. In 1830, the town had a population of 150 people and a one-room schoolhouse. The population increased to 600 people by 1840, but decreased to 350 people by 1850. In 1870, the city of Dayton established itself at the intersection of Ohio Route 33 and Middletown Road, which gave Middletown an outsized role as a commercial center. However, this development led to declining business opportunities for Middletown over time, and it gradually lost its importance as a community until it closed its doors entirely in the early 1990s.
