Middletown, Ohio is one of the few small towns in the United States that has a gun protection history dating back to before the American Revolution. The town was founded by Quakers in 1795 and was home to many of the early settlers who were attempts to create a society where guns were not allowed. In 1812, Middletown passed an ordinance prohibiting any person from carrying or possessing any firearm without first obtaining a license from the town clerk. The ordinance became effective immediately and was met with resistance from some of the town's citizens who saw it as another way for the government to control their lives. Despite this opposition, Middletown passed an ordinance enforcing the licensing requirement in 1814. This law proved successful and helped keep weapons out of the hands of those who would do us harm. Despite these successes, there were still people throughout Middletown who felt that they needed access to firearms in order to protect themselves from attackers or criminals. This resistance led to more ordinances being passed limiting gun possession and use in Middletown until finally becoming fully banned in 1938. Today, Middletown has one of only a handful of municipalities in America which maintains such a long history with gun protection measures as part of its municipal policy.

The people of Middletown had a strong interest in keeping their community safe from harm. This resulted in them arming themselves with whatever weapons they could find. Some of these arms include shotguns, rifles, pistols, and even cannons. As time went on, more regulations were put into place to make sure no one was taking advantage of the disarmament policy. In fact, it was only during the late 1800s that handguns became an important part of local society.
Middletown is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 1,358 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati–Marietta, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Middletown is located in Price Township and is bordered by Price to the east, Bedford to the north, Uniontown to the west and southwest, and Mount Vernon to the northwest. The first permanent settler in Middletown was Nicholas Drury in 1796. In 1813, three brothers founded what would become Middletown Academy which still operates today as a public school system with over 1,500 students from grades Pre-K through 12th grade. In 1870s Jens Jensen opened a grocery store on Main Street that became one of Middletown's most popular businesses for many years until it closed its doors in 1984 due to economic hardship following World War II. A few years later John Pritchard opened his own general store on Fourth Street that also flourished for many years before closing its doors in 2006 after more than 40 years in business. The community continued to grow during this time as several new businesses such as Ford auto factory (now known as Solon Technologies), Wohlgemuth Tire & Rubber Co., Patton Furniture Manufacturing Company and others arrived along with an increasing number of residents who began working their farms or ranching properties near town center or outside of town limits; these communities have since all disappeared into history or been absorbed into nearby townships/cities without any notable impact on Middletown's core commercial district which remains largely unchanged since those days! It wasn't until 1990 when another large employer made an appearance within our community when Chiquita Brands Inc., then headquartered just outside of Dayton across I-71 caused significant development within our downtown area including construction of two new buildings – one housing Chiquita's corporate offices followed by additional office space for local law firms Knoppers & Sons LLP and Byrne & Harrigan LLP while also creating much needed retail spaces within walking distance for locals and visitors alike! This marked not only a major milestone but also demonstrated how open minds can change things when willing entrepreneurs come together - something we continue to see play out today with numerous small businesses opening up alongside larger chains like Macy’s department stores throughout central Ohio! Today, despite being overshadowed by newer neighbor(s) down Interstate 71 just minutes away (just watch out for those driver’s licenses!), MiddletOWN continues to thrive thanks largely to its diverse cultural attractions including its vibrant arts scene which has seen numerous signature shows both locally and nationally hosted including national tours by Broadway regulars like Cyndi Lauperstein ('Matilda'), Stephen Cohan ('The Great Gatsby')and Donny Osmond ('Your Wedding'); as well as international talent coming through frequently such as world renowned violinist Joshua Bell (the star attraction at last year’s Valleyfair Music Festival); while also boasting some very talented local chefs culminating with 2018 winner Nigel Slater Academies Award recipient Lisa Luchini coining her first cookbook (a true culinary journey comprising over 100 recipes!) A recent study conducted by Forbes magazinereveals that 'Middletowntowards 2020 will be among America's most prosperous small towns'. Not only does this mean more jobs available right here within our tiny town but it also reflects positively on village character – characteristics that have emerged over timeoiseveloped strengths such as entrepreneurialism, creativity and concern about social justice

One of the earliest written records on gun safety and gun ownership is from 1665, when King James I of England issued a proclamation warning his people against the carrying of firearms without a license. The Gun Owners’ Act of 1934 made it easier for Americans to buy and own handguns. During the 1960s and 1970s, there was increased attention to gun control due to assassinations in America such as John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Jesus Christ Superstar singer Bob Dylan. After 1974, there was an increase in suicides by firearm owners with access to guns being seen as one potential explanation. In 1994, the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act became law which banned certain types of assault weapons including those that could shoot more than 10 rounds per minute. Since then, there have been numerous efforts made at state and national levels to make it harder for people with mental illness or addiction issues from buying guns. There have also been calls for stricter regulations on ammunition sales and transportation after mass shootings like Las Vegas nightclub shooting in October 2017 that left 58 dead and more than 500 injured.

Middletown is a village in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 671 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Middletown was James Armstrong, who arrived in 1796. In 1803, John and Mary Smith founded the town of Middletown on the east side of the Scioto River. They named it after their maternal grandfather, Moses Weiser Middletown (1761-1837). In 1827, General Nelson A. Miles appointed Benjamin Fenton as surveyor for Butler County. He surveyed what is now parts of Middletown and other townships in western Butler County before his death in 1828. In 1829-30, David Wilkinson built a gristmill on an existing stream near present day Elm Street and Washington Avenue. The mill became known as Wilkinson's Mill because its owner, David Wilkinson Sr., donated land for it along with others to create the Village of Middletown. By 1830, about 50 people lived in Middletown when it was organized as a village under the direction of Samuel Davies from Bedford Township.. Midshipman William Haines served as mayor from 1831 to 1840; he also served as recorder from 1830 to 1840 and justice of peace from 1830 to 1840.. In 1841-42 Anthony Decatur organized three Masonic lodges: Lodge No._2 (founded by Anthony Decatur), Lodge No._3 (founded by James Fenton) and Lodge No._4 (founded by Isaac Neeleman). The first meeting of these new lodges took place on November 12th at which they elected George Wessels Master Mason.. On October 3rd, 1861 there were six schools operating within or near MiddletOWN: one school house operated by Mrs. Elizabeth Anselmo; two private academies operated by Mrs GeoVille Higgins & Dr Samuel Wells; one public schoolhouse operated by Mr Tilton Ticknor; one academy operated by Mrs Bicknell Lewis; one school house operated by Rev Cushing Stowe.. Middlesex Female Seminary opened its doors on December 3rd 1860 under trusteeship of Delaware Female Seminary with Rev Gertrude Burkholder serving as first Mistress.. On December 10th 1860 Delaware Female Seminary closed due to financial difficulties... On February 9th 1861 Delaware Female Seminary reopened under trusteeship of Holy Cross Female theological college with Rev Gertrude Burkholder serving as First Mistress... Newark Business Collegeopened its doors on March 12th 1861 with Miss Clara Potter serving as first Mistress.... On May 16th 1861 Newark Business College closed due to lack of enrollment... One week later on May 22nd 1861 Trinity Presbyterian church opened its doors with Rev Joice yeates officiating...... On June 2nd 1861 Trinity Presbyterian church closed its doors due to lack of enrollment......... In 1865 Methodist Episcopal Church opened its door..... Episcopalian Congregational Church opened its door....... Lutheran German Baptist Church open door....... Unitarian Universalist Chapel open door.......
