Middletown is located on the Scioto River and has a humid subtropical climate. The first European to reach Middletown was David Wilkinson in 1795. He named the community after his birthplace, Middletown in England. One of Wilkinson's descendants, James Wilkinson, founded one of the largest mercantile families in Ohio during the early 19th century and helped to create what would become Middletown's commercial district. By 1825, many of Middletown's residents had emigrated to what would become Buffalo, New York; however, many residents remained until Dayton incorporated as a city in 1903. Middletown experienced significant growth following its incorporation as a city; by 1900 it had over 10 businesses and an estimated population of 30-40 people. In 1907-08 Mayor William McGowan (1863-1943) spearheaded an effort that saw construction begin on what would eventually become City Hall; this project was completed within two years and signaled a new era for MiddletOWN as it began to grow rapidly into one of Dayton's most important economic engines. During World War II much activity occurred in downtown which resulted in increased development including several large factories that produced munitions for war purposes such as Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and US Munitions Corporation (now Raytheon). Additionally there were numerous stores and services opened up within blocks or less of City Hall such as Market Basket Department Store which became an anchor tenant upon its opening adjacent to State Street Jail in 1942; throughout all this activity downtown business owners enjoyed tax breaks and preferential treatment from city officials who saw their interests allied with those of downtown businesspeople rather than thoseresidentially on South Main Street or near Third Avenue where residential development had been taking place since before Dayton became a cityrichescaleenterprise center like Cleveland or Cincinnati were doing at that time

In 1940, Winchester introduced its own pocket-sized Rifle Magazine designed specifically for law enforcement officers and military personnel who relied on quick access to ammo while on duty or during training exercises. These early PistolMag design featured clips that could be clipped onto clothing or belts to make carrying your firearm easier and faster when needed.

Middletown, Ohio is a small town located in the heart of the United States. The population was 6,502 at the 2010 census. Middletown is considered part of the Dayton-Middletown, OH-KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has a history dating back to 1798 when James Kieft and his family first settled in what is now Middletown Township. In 1814, the township was formed from parts of Newtown Township and other smaller townships in Trumbull County. The village of Middletown was platted in 1836 by Captain John Manning and two brothers, Enoch and Elijah Morse. After years of development and growth, during which time it became a center for education, industry, commerce and government services, Middletown reached its peak during World War II with its participation in the war effort as an important munitions plant and post office. However since then much decline has taken place; most notably due to being affected by natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina (2005), tornado (2007) and flooding (2011). Today there are many businesses that have closed down or relocated outside of town because they have found cheaper areas to operate in but some residents still cling to their memories of when things were better here. One thing that makes Middletown unique is its community spirit which comes from the strong sense of community involvement that exists among its citizens. This includes both inside and outside activities like fundraisers for local charities or involvement with projects within the school district or city council members’ efforts towards improving downtown streetscape or adding more public transportation options into this small towne
Middletown was founded in 1831 by George Washington Middletown, a Quaker father and his son, Nathaniel. The community of about 200 settlers grew rapidly, and in 1835 the first school was built. In 1830, the United States acquired land east of Middletown on the Scioto River for a military post called Fort Monmouth.about 100 settlers moved to this new settlement, which became known as "Middletown Point."In 1837 the Ohio General Assembly passed an act providing for the erection of a courthouse and jail within Middletown limits. This building was completed in 1840. In 1850, voters approved a charter for the University of Cincinnati; Middletown residents helped finance its establishment. By 1860, there were more than 400 residents living in Middletown Point and around town. In 1870-71 Judge John Fenton erected an addition to the courthouse that became known as "The Fenton Building". Between 1873 and 1886 various businesses were established in MiddletOWN POINT: A store (1873), harness shop (1875), bakery (1877), ice cream parlor (1879), hotel (1887) In 1907-08 local farmers organized what is now known as the Mike Tyson Foundation to promote agricultural research at Bowling Green State University
