The only other store between Xenia and Dayton opened up back east around this time too – Young’s grocery store at 5th and Elm Streets – but it closed down within 3 years due to competition from larger stores opening up along Interstate 75!" In 1907, when water availability improved with construction across the state line on the Scioto River (and new mills were built), rice farmer John Pugh moved his family to live there permanently after years growing corn & beans on his farmstead just outside Xenia. His wife Annawid moved out with their four children while he went off to work ; mother stayed behind with 7 grandchildren who helped run home cooked meals during those early days despite having no schooling themselves! Eventually all six siblings returned home except one who found pursue music lessons almost impossible since distances meant they couldn't travel more than 1/2 mile away! When Prohibition ended alcohol sales resumed rapidly across most US stateside locations but continued slump in business nationally especially herein OH which caused many farmers such as Pugh to sell their crops & move back home w/ families rather then fight another battle against prohibition!" So even though bars reopened all over America by 1919 (& some did very well) people hereabouts decided THIS wasn't what THEY wanted going forward!" And so we see today's venerable buildings including Old Mill predecessors like Rices Store (& adjacent victorian style house) now occupied by various businesses such as Subway sandwich shop (closed 2013), Courtyard Marriott hotel (closed 2016), etc., etc." What makes this place truly unique is that while most places are struggling economically these days thanks largely to technological advances (!), tech jobs continue being created right here at headquarters" !

Middletown, Ohio is a town located in the southwestern corner of Ohio, on the east bank of the Scioto River. The population was 9,545 at the 2010 census. It lies within Butler County and is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is one of two towns in Butler County that have a population over 10,000; the other is Canton. The exact site where Middletown began to form as an incorporated town has not been determined with certainty, but it likely took place around 1810 when developers saw potential for land west of what is now Third Avenue and Second Street in Middletown Township. At first, most residents were farmers who raised pigs and hogs on their properties; later they built stores and businesses as well as homes. The first school in Middletown was opened in 1814. By 1830, there were nine churches in Middletown with over 1,500 members each. An important figure during early MiddletOWN history was John Fenton who served as Treasurer from 1825-1829 and also became Mayor from 1830-1834. He also helped build up town by donating land to be developed into lots; these lots would become some of the earliest homes in town today. In 1838-39 he donated $5,000 towards construction of Auer Hall which still stands today and houses many of the school district’s offices today! In 1840 John Fenton married Rachel Holcomb which solidified his role as mayor because Rachel was then able to help shepherd legislation through local legislatures ensuring that development occurred quickly within town limits without government intervention or obstructionism! On July 3rd 1840 while driving down Third Avenue towards downtown Middletown he ran off Geological Surveyor James Wilkinson’s road going into Dunkin Donuts (now called FirstEnergy) property adjacent to commercial Lots 16 & 17 on present day Second Street! This event led to new growth for Middletown because people started thinking about how best to develop their own property rather than waiting for government officials to approve it! In 1848 Nathan Boren bought Lots 4 thru 6 from Ephraim Hancock for $8 per acre – this area now includes much of Downtown Dayton including parts of Fifth Third Bank Tower current home to One Nationwide Plaza OH Retail store along with IMAX Theater located across lot next door belonging to JCPenney department store .Boren soon after subdivided these tracts into blocks (northwest side streets only). From this time forward development went rapidly due mostlyto advertisements brought about by businessmen such as Davenport Lumber Co., Cannery interests -particularly those associated with Jno Hanna- founder/president/director), Hennepin Brewing Co., Gresham Glass Works etc….A major eventos during this time included fire destroyed several buildings at Fourth & Elm Streets between 1850-1851 (building owner being Elijah Porter since building date unknown), opening night celebration at Masonic Temple on Elm Street opposite High School which drew over 50 people including prominent citizens such as Senator Orville Strong who attended function wearing a “Masonic Veil” becoming perhaps America's first delegate ever elected statewide ! Middletown experienced its heyday during World War II whenhey grew rapidly due largelyto patriotism stimulated by advertising campaigns run by businessmen such as Davenport Lumber Co., Cannery interests - particularly those associated with Jno Hanna- founder/president/director), Hennepin BrewingCo., Gresham Glass Works etc…..One noticeable exampleof wartime growthrelated activitywasthe constructionof Pfeiffer Dam across Scioto River resultingin increased water availability for agricultural purposes supplying war plants throughout centralOhio……During late 1940s thru early 1950s virtually all manufacturing operations ceasedexcept for some light industrial uses………………………………………..In 1955virtually all manufacturing operations resumed except for some light industrial uses…………………..Today nearly all manufacturing operations are conducted within city limits alone……………………………………….
