Middleburg Heights, Ohio is a town in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 4,554 at the 2010 census. Middleburg Heights has been home to a number of scopes and telescope makers over the years. The first scopes in Middleburg Heights were made by Samuel Wistar and Amos Stowell in 1824. In 1827, Reverend John Fenton built the first Methodist church in Middleburg Heights. The First Baptist Church also began serving in Middleburg Heights in 1828. In 1830, Reverend George Hildebrandt founded the Second Baptist Church here. In 1853, Augustus Weaver bought land southwest of Middleburgh Heights on which he erected a sawmill and gristmill that became one of the largest mills around. In 1865, Weaver donated 8 acres (3 ha) of land to the village of Muskingum for use as an open-air school ground called "Weaver's Grove". The village continued to serve as an elementary school until it merged with Plainfield Township on February 14th, 1907 to form Muskingum Township . In 1886-87, William Kirtland built three telescopes at his home on acreage north of what is now Weavers Grove School. These telescopes are still used today for astronomy education at Notre Dame High School located about two miles away from Kirtland's farmhouse on Route 622 east of town . Back then most people only viewed astronomical objects using small telescopes but with advances in technology this changed over time and now anyone can view celestial objects with a modern telescope using free software such as skywatching software or an app like stargazing software

Middleburg Heights is a village in Defiance County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,650 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. Middleburg Heights began as a small farming community and grew to be one of the most ethnically diverse villages in central Ohio. The village was founded by Isaac Middleburg in 1827. He acquired 640 acres (248 hectares) of land near present-day Akron,Ohio, and erected a store and gristmill on his property. In 1830, he married Susannah Irwin and started to grow maize on his farmstead for sale to local farmers and others who wanted to feed their families. In 1842, Middleburg Heights became the first village in Defiance County when it merged with neighboring unincorporated communities such as Darlington and Moreland Mills. In 1857, he sold his land to James Caldwell for $4 per acre ($160 per km²). The town of Caldwell was formed from parts of both villages in 1865. As part of this merger, Caldwell donated what is now known as Old Scranton Road (now US 422) which ran through downtown Middleburg Heights into town limits; this gave rise to its nickname "Caldwell's Road." After Kepler’s invention, Telescopes became very popular because they could now be used for a variety of purposes including learning about science and Technology!

In 1876, Alfred Vail produced a telescope that could magnification up to 350x and could be used for astronomy. In 1919, Edwin Hubble discovered galaxies and the universe was born!

Middleburg Heights is a small, unincorporated community located in Butler Township, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The community was formed in 1811 by the union of two small villages, Middleburg and Springvale. Middleburg Heights is named for Major General Jonathan Dayton (1775-1837), an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps who served under General Andrew Jackson during the American Civil War. Middleburgh Heights is one of several communities that were established along the Scioto River as part of the Toledo settlement during the early 1800s. During this time, settlers frequently traveled to market on foot or by boat because there was no road connecting their settlements. In 1811, Major General Dayton decided to create a road between his village and Springvale so that he could easier bring goods to his constituents. He ordered construction of a bridge over the Scioto River and named it after himself, which later became known as Dayton Bridge. The first school in Middleburg Heights was built in 1821 on what is now Merchant's Row Road. It was used as a barn until 1826 when it became available for use as a schoolhouse. The first teacher at Middleburgh Heights Elementary School was Mrs. Higginson who taught until 1830 when she moved to Elmira and started her own school there. In 1840, Mrs.(?) Whitehead opened her schoolroom at No 6 Merchant's Row Road which continued operations until 1865 when it burned down due to fire damage from an exploding cannonball while military gunfire was being fought nearby! In 1849, Mr.(?) Beasley donated land at No 1 Market Street for a public square which eventually became known as Beasley Square today! In 1862, Mr.(?) Kapp donated land at No 3 Market Street for another public square which also became known as Kapp Square today! From 1861 through 1865, three churches were operated within Middleburg Heights: First Methodist Church (1861-1865), Second Methodist Church (1862-1865), and Third Presbyterian Church (1863-1868). It wasn't until 1889 that Fourth Presbyterian Church opened its doors in what is now Old Union Cemetery! Reverend James Sorenson led this congregation from Cleveland before moving to Valparaiso IN in 1893 where he founded Sorenson’s Seminary & Orphan Asylum!! Reverend Sorenson remains pastor emeritus today at Fourth Presbyterian Chapel located just east of Old Union Cemetery on Main Street! During World War II many residents took up arms against fascism and joined forces with local organizations such as “The Loyalty League” whose goal it was to foster patriotic sentiment throughout their township among all sections!!! After the war ended many residents returned home but some chose not to return because they felt they had been betrayed by wartime efforts! Some current residents are proud members of both local organizations and have remained active with them throughout their lifetimes!!! Today many families live close together within walking distance of one another serving God & country thru our shared appreciation for our common heritage!!!!!!!!!!!!!
