Middleburg Heights is a small town in the Pike County, Ohio, United States. The population was 902 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1836 by families from West Chester Township. Middleburg Heights is located on busy US Route 6 south of Cleveland and east of Akron. Middleburg Heights is named for General James Wilkinson who fought in the American Revolution and later became a captain in the Continental Army under George Washington. In 1836, Wilkinson's family moved from West Chester Township to start a new life in what is now Middleburg Heights after purchasing two lots on which they built a home and store. Two years later, they added another lot to their property and named it "Middleburg." The first post office was established at Middleburg in 1840, and mail continued to be delivered there until 1861 when it moved to Plainfield. In 1846, Wilkinson built a gristmill on his land that still stands today; it has been used for flour production ever since. He also started an agricultural business that produced hay, grapes, apples and other crops. The community rapidly grew thanks to its many new businesses and homes - many were erected during the late 1800s as part of an effort by Wilkinson to create what he called "a model town" near his mill racecourse! By 1860, Middleburg had over 100 residents and boasted several churches (including one established in 1851), three schools (one public school opened in 1854), two stores (one operated by Mr. & Mrs.. Jaffe), four residences (three with white picket fences) and one farmstead with six cows and twelve pigs! Additionally, local farmers raised chickens, dogsand hogs as well as raising corn for local markets throughout this period; these activities helped contribute to Middleburg's rapid growth into one of northeastern Ohio's most vibrant communities! Despite its relatively recent history - or perhaps because of it - Middleburgh Heights remains firmly rooted within its community values which include support for agriculture/farming activities along with active involvement within society; citizens are known for their love of providing services such as lawn care & garden maintenance as well as groceries shopping & dining out! One example of this latter typeof behavior occurred earlier this year when Case Western Reserve University announced plans to build a $100 million research campus adjacent to the town limits; this development will bring more than 1,000 jobs directlyto Middleburgh Heights!"

Middleburg Heights is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located southeast of Cleveland on the east side of Lake Erie. As of the 2010 census, its population was 7,234. Middleburg Heights is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what is now Middleburg Heights was Nicholas Haines, who arrived in1792 and built a cabin on the shore of Cuyahoga River. He named his community after himself and his father's home town in England (Middleburgh). The first store opened in 1814 and by 1850 there were nine stores in town. In 1870, John Daugherty founded Jardine Manufacturing Company which manufactured cigars and other products from local cedar sawdust until it merged with Samuel Morse & Brothers Company in 1903 to become American Cigarette Company. A cotton gin was built at Cuyahoga Falls between 1881 and 1886 by George Wacker for Jardine Manufacturing Company; however it closed down within a year due to competition from foreign companies such as Philip Morris USA Incorporated (now known as Altria Group) and Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation (now known as Reynolds American Tobacco). In 1922, a steel plant was built by The Monongahela Steel Corporation which produced automobiles until it closed down in 1976; later that year an agricultural chemical plant followed suit with production lasting into the 1990s but ultimately coming to an end due to environmental concerns In 1954, when Middleburg Heights became part of Cleveland School District No. 98, much effort was made to improve educational opportunities for its citizens through extracurricular activities like music programs or debating societies; these efforts culminated with the opening of Brownsville Elementary School across Euclid Avenue fromthe old Wright Bros Brewery site where children would play outside all day long until their parents took them home for dinner In recent years many businesses have gone out Of Business or been sold off one by one due to changes within global economies or changing consumer tastes; some examples are: 24-Hour Fitnesscenter(closed 2009), PNC Bank(closed 2006), FirstEnergy Financial Services Center(closed 2005), Joe's Pizza(closed 2000), Old Spice Shampoo&Body Lotion Factory(closed 1997), Kroger Supermarket (closed 1996) and Home Depot(Closed 1993). However despite this downfall many residents continue to live here full time including several dozen retirees who call Middleburg Heights their " HOME".
Middleburg Heights, Ohio was founded in 1836 by Captain John Middleburg and his wife Betsy. The first settlers were farmers who raised pigs, cows, chickens and horses. In the 1840s, a sawmill was built in town and began to produce lumber. By 1860, the population of Middleburg Heights had grown to around 100 people. A hotel was built in 1872 and served as the center of town until it burned down in 1936. The town continued to grow until it reached its peak during World War II when it had a population of over 1,500 people. After the war, the population slowly declined until it reached its current level of about 150 people in 2000.
