In 1916-1917 two large floods destroyed most of Waveland's buildings including all its churches and schools which were replaced with new ones within a few months; however some people still maintain that this flood marked the end of civilization as we know it in area as there has never been another such event since then!

Miamisburg is a town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Toledo Metropolitan Statistical Area. Miamisburg was founded in 1824 by John Mellon and his family and named after Miami, Florida. The first post office in Miamisburg was established in 1827. The township of Miamisburg was organized on March 11, 1829 from a portion of the township of Bedford Heights. On July 1, 1830, the village of Miamisburg was authorized to be formed from parts of the townships of Bedford Heights and Halfmoon along with the portions of Ottawa and West Uniontown lying eastward within said Township boundaries. The first store built in Miamisburg was that operated by Ephraim Dickson on Main Street between Washington and Jefferson Streets. A new store built on Delaware Avenue near Court House Square was opened by J H Weaver on November 10, 1830. In 1831-32 there were three stores operating in town: two conducted by John Mellon (one still standing), one by Ebenezer Carpenter (occupied since 1840) and one operated by Moses Potter (now closed). This continued until about 1865 when all local business operations were centralized under one roof at what is nowknown as Pennsylvania Avenue near court house square; this building still stands today as a museum/rellowary/gas station combination called Potters gas station

Miamisburg was founded on December 12, 1814 by clearing land for a new town named after General George Washington. The first post office opened in Miamisburg on January 1, 1815. The settlement grew rapidly due to its location along the Root Canal route and its access to water from two rivers. A canal was built through Miamisburg in 1825 and 1830, giving it more access to trade and industry than other towns near the canalway. In 1839, Miamisburg became part of the newly formed Union Territory of Ohio followingthe American Civil War. In 1861, following Confederate military action in central Ohio, Union forces burned down most of Miamisburg during their occupation. Miamisburgh's growth as a commercial center continued into the 20th century as coal mining began to become an important economic sector of the communitys life; however during World War II many residents left for military service because they believed that war would end quickly enough without any loss of life or property damage caused by air bombing raids over cities like Dresden or Hiroshima
