Miamisburg is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 21,527 at the 2010 census. The town is located in Richland Township and is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Miamisburg was Nicholas Henthorn, who arrived on a Dutch ship called "Witwatersrand" on July 6, 1781, while on his way to Fort Pitt in Pennsylvania. He named his new land after one of his relatives, Michael Henthorn (1749–1827). In 1802, John Fenton purchased from Nicholas Henthorn two-thirds of the land comprising what would become Miamisburg. In 1811, James Toler bought from Nicholas Henthorn another third of the property which would form the basis for Toler's mill complex on Main Street today known as Toler Park Towers. In 1825, John Frick purchased land from James Toler and erected a sawmill and gristmill along present day High Street near where he resided until his death in 1888. This millstream later became known as Frick Creek when it separates from Little Miami River north of downtown Cincinnati through farmland owned by James A. Frick and transfered to Miamisburg reverted back to its original name by deed dated October 15th 1889 during an election held to change village boundaries within Richland Township following changes made to township boundaries due to annexation by Dayton (then part of Cincinnati) into Hamilton County during the early 20th century In 1902 Jens Andersen opened a grocery store at 905 High Street now occupied by White Eagle Donuts & Coffee inside what used to be Wernham's Drug Store before that business closed down c1985 . After Andersen's store closed down there was much speculation about what could be done with that building since it had been vacant for many years but no plans ever took shape until developer George Papp announced plans for an office complex occupying most of building which included apartments upstairs as well as ground floor retail spaces . That project never materialized but eventually resulted in demolition of all buildings except for Original Mill structure which still stands today

Miamisburg is a town in Geauga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,691 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the Miami and Erie Canal. Miamisburg is located on the southern edge of Dayton, about 20 miles east of Cleveland. The first permanent settler in Miamisburg was Solomon Higginson in 1814. He named his land "Miamisburgh." A post office called Miamisburgh was established in 1826, and remained in operation until it were discontinued in 1892. In 1832, a group of settlers founded the Village of Miamisburgh on land that they had bought from John Prentice. They named their village after Miamisburg Creek which they crossed near their settlement to get there. The Village of Miamisburgh lasted until it were discontinued in 1865 due to low population growth and lack of development opportunities. In 1836, James Gossett organized a wagon train from rigorously Presbyterian families who had immigrated to what is now Dayton from Pennsylvania to stake out claim for what would become theGeauga County community of Miamisburg Heights (later renamed Highland Park). Gossett arrived at Niles Landing just south of present-day Orchard Hills Boulevard on July 15th and began erecting buildings for his new community as part of a wagon drive he called "The Great Migration". On October 5th he formally granted township status to "Miumsburgh Township", which consisted mostly onlyof his original settlements; Niles Landing; Highland Park; Griggsville; Blacklick Township; Whitehall Township (later simply Defiance Township); and parts adjacent to today's Scioto Valley neighborhood west Jerome Avenue between Butler Road and I-675/State Route 59/US 421 (the Trenton Toll Road). That same year saw one more important event when General Winfield Scott announced via dispatch rider that he was moving troops into Blair County to help quell insurgents within that county who were revolting against Ulysses S Grant's Reconstruction Administration following the American Civil War - also known as the Red River Rebellion or Indian Removal era On November 8th 1840 during an election held by Adams County mechanics electors voted James Ladd as their representative for township trusteeship with no one voting against him because no candidate received over 50% Of THE TOTAL VOTES cast! Consequently Ladd became sole trustee with power over all operations within township including but not limited to building permits issuance etc...thus beginning what would be an almost continuous governance by elected officials through Resolution #7 passed by commissioners December 14th 1840 naming three commissioners who would preside over all township affairs day and night...Voters did not have authority whatsoever outside OF THE PROVISIONS OF RESOLUTION 7 AND THEIR AUTHORITY depended ONLY UPON THE AUTHORITY OF THREE COMMISSIONERS! This continued government until annexation by Geauga County on February 15th 1906.... Today much like then, residents live close together while still maintaining some distance between themselves through various forms such as privacy walls or fences erected around individual homes
