Miamisburg is a small town in the Heart of Ohio Valley, located just south of Dayton. It was founded by Miamis and his wife, Sarah, in 1819 as a log cabin on the Scioto River. The two families had ten children before they moved to what is now Miamisburg in 1828. By 1830, the population of Miamisburg had grown to eighty-five people. The community's early history can be found within its present borders. In 1829, Johnstown and Wilkinsville were surveyed as townships in Putnam County; however, when these townships were organized into counties in 1840, Miamisburg fell within the newly created Dayton Township (later Muskegon Heights Township). On October 3, 1850, Miamisburg was incorporated as a city with a population of one hundred fifty-five people. However, it would not become an official city until 1893 when it adopted its current name after becoming part of the Lima Township organization. During its early years as a village or town, Miamisburg experienced rapid growth thanks to several factors including business opportunities available from land grants given out by President James K. Polk during the American Civil War; construction of new roads and bridges across the Scioto River; and increased travel throughout central Ohio due to railroads reaching Dayton through that area. Despite this progressivism and growth potential - which saw many homes being built on sites where later streets would be developed - social unrest continued to simmer during this time period due largely to economic disparities between rich and poor residents alike. In 1886, prohibition became law in America following John Frick's victory at the polls over George Washington Carver for Mayor of Cincinnati; this decision led to widespread riots throughout various cities across America starting on April 17th that year known collectively as "the May Days." This protest movement against liquor regulation was successful enough that similar laws were passed nationally three months later by Andrew Johnson without any major confrontations or violence taking place; however, some communities such as Dayton felt left behind economically after their larger neighbor became dryer and more discriminating regarding who could buy alcohol legally (a practice still ongoing today). Aided by growing trade with Mexico City via Ulysses S Grant'srailroad project - completed in 1869 – along with aggressive marketing tactics from lead citizens organizer Reverend Wm Burchfield – Miamisberg grew rapidly once again during Reconstruction Era times until 1910 when Prohibition was repealed nationwide following ratification of laissez faire legislation spearheaded by President William Howard Taft ensuring southern Ohioans would no longer have access to intoxicating beverages other than moonshine (which began flowing into northern Indiana beginning around this time too). With Prohibition gone though came increased competition for jobs available both inside and outside of town limits among those who had previously enjoyed easy access to drugs peddled openly near local bars while Main Street became increasingly darkangel territory becoming known locally as "the Wild Side." In recent decades there have been several redevelopment efforts launched within town limits which have seen mixed success: most notably attempts at resurrecting downtown Stroudsburg which saw significant damage caused during NATO air strikes targeting military barracks near town late last year while also creating new housing developments adjacent thereto; while also initiating plans for development surrounding Centennial Park – centered around developing a new park/conference center/ recreation ground combo facility/artery research lab complex etc.– all totaling about $100 million dollars since first proposed back in 2004 only for nothing further progress ever materialize since then despite numerous public meetings held throughouttown resulting in broad agreement from elected officials concerning various concepts being considered thereby palpable disappointment among many locals especially given how much investeditorial capital has already been committed thus far without results whatsoever beyond mere talk rather than substance what so ever…
