Mayfield Heights, Ohio is home to a long and vibrant ammunition history. This community was founded in 1854 by men who came from Mayfield, PA. The first store in the community was operated by George Husted and his son-in-law, John Kapp. In 1892, J.H.Dixon opened the first post office in Mayfield Heights. By 1910, there were 12 stores operating in the community with a population of 471 people. Ammunition production began in this town during World War I and continued until 1945 when it stopped due to industry consolidation.
Mayfield Heights is a city in theuy of Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 17,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Canton–Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what would become Mayfield Heights was John Toombs in 1812. He and his wife Mary founded their home on the current site of Mayfield Elementary School in 1814. What became known as Toombsville was developed on this property between 1815 and 1820 by three brothers: John, David and Solomon Toombs. In 1830, James Atherton located a farm on the east side of Center Street near present-day West Side Drive to serve as an appearance for his new town site that had been selected by commissioners from surrounding counties. This location served as the "town square" for much of early Mayfield Heights development until it moved to its present-day location about two miles west on Center Road about 1850. As more people came to live in what would become Mayfield Heights, businesses started to form around this initial village square with some continuing until after World War II when they moved away or were taken over by larger organizations like Enron Corporation or Koppers Incorporated which changed the character and nature of many small businesses doing local grocery shopping before they closed down forever or were converted into office buildings/residential complexes while their owners retained access to their properties through leases or other forms of ownership privileges. Many landmark buildings dating back to these early days still stand today including Buttermilk Hill Creamery (founded 1865), The First Baptist Church (1895), Mrs. Coulter's Bakery (1910) and Lowrey's Drug store (1920). On October 15, 1920 – less than one year after it opened its doors – Lowrey's Drug store caught fire during a warehouse fire which destroyed most of Main Street within sight; however, all windows remained open allowing customers inside where they shopped for groceries until shortly before 8pm when word arrived that rescue squads were available; within 10 minutes all but one building had been saved with only minor damage done to those inside which included several high-end gifts such as Tiffany & Co.'s New York City branch from 1913 which escaped unscathed despite having sustained extensive smoke and water damage throughout its ordeal; prior to this time prices for groceries had continued uninterrupted without interruption due primarily to regular supply issues brought on by fires rather than any shortages caused by demand from outside suppliers who could no longer meet production demands set forth byEnron Corporation headquarters in downtown Akron

Mayfield Heights is a small, unincorporated community in Holmes County, Ohio, United States. It is located on the Scioto River east of Cleveland. The community was first established in 1814 as a result of the junction of two paths that crossed the river.
Mayfield Heights is a small town in the southwest corner of Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,619 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Mayfield Heights was John Mayfield, who arrived in 1795. He built a log cabin on the present site of his home and named it "Mayfields". In 1806, he married Lydia Goodrich and they had six children. By 1830, when Samuel Wirtz moved to Mayfield Heights from Delaware Township near Dayton, he had also founded the village of Whitehall andnamed it after his wife's birthplace in Scotland. In 1837, John A. Kapp bought land adjoining Mayfield Heights from Samuel Wirtz for $5 per acre and began developing it into Village Park (later renamed Mayfield Heights). Kapp donated much of this land to Whitehall Township for use as parks and schools. His grandson John A. Kapp II developed additional parcels including today's blocks that make up portions of Mayfield Heights proper were added to Whitehall Township during this time as well. By 1870, there were only about 100 people living in Village Park while over 2200 people lived in Whitehall Township with all but a few hundred residents within what are now parts of Mayfield Heights proper. The development process that followed from 1800-1920 was eerily similar to that which exists today: numerous families purchased tracts of land along Richmond Road between 1865-1875; many more purchased tracts south side between 1880-1900; final annexation occurred circa 1915-1920 following an referendum by residents voting on whether or not to annex adjacent Greenbelt Township (today's Riverside Cemetery) into their town limits
