Some of these companies became well known such as FFL Firearms Inc., which manufactures rifles, shotguns, pistols and ammunition; American T-Shirts Inc., which manufactures shirts and hats for all sorts of events including rifle shoots, camping/fishing tournaments, golf outings etc.; Patriot Arms Manufacturing Co., operators of several gun stores throughout Ohio; and finally Monroe Brothers Arms & Ammunition, who manufactured sporting goods from 1911 until 1978. This last company is still located in Massillon but specializes in reloading supplies only!

There is no definitive answer to this question, as the history of firearms in Massillon goes back many years. However, some believe that the first pistols were manufactured in the town by local farmers and trader John Stephenson in 1795. It was not until 1837 that Massillon became a city and began manufacturing rifles and shotguns. In 1875, Massillon produced its own locomotive engine company, which helped fuel growth throughout the early 20th century. The city then experienced a period of rapid growth during World War II as military production increased; however, since then massilonians have been generally supportive of gun control measures.
Massillon is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Hamilton County. The population was 153,746 at the 2010 census, making it the third-largest city in Ohio and one of its seven metropolitan areas. It lies on the southern border of Cincinnati, straddling both banks of the Great Miami River. The area now known as Massillon was first settled by families from Westchester County, New York in 1788 and became part as a town in 1803. The name "Massillon" is derived from Massaquin tribe which inhabited this region before Europeans arrived. In 1812, General James Kenedy led an American army against Native Americans at Battle Creek Hill near present-day Massillon; he named his victory after General Kenedy's old friend, Major John Steele of Westchester County (now Canandaigua)). The city limits were expanded to include what are now southeastern Butler Township and northwestern Ross Township on December 14, 1907 by an act of the Ohio General Assembly acting pursuant to an Act entitled "An Act to improve roads and bridges within said county." This act designated portions of these townships adjacent to Cincinnati as massillons for easier transportation between those townships and Cincinnati. On July 1, 1912, a new municipal charter was granted to Massillon by Governor John Peake with identical boundaries as those used today with one exception: the western border extended along what is now I-75 south to Nelmes Road eastward instead of flowing just north across Belleview Avenue into Hamilton Township proper; this change was made because then–Mayor Amos Brown wanted more room for commercial development within his municipality limits while still allowing access onto Belleview Avenue for people living in neighboring Hamilton Township east of Uptown Drive. On November 16, 1924 – during Franklin Dealing's first term as governor – an actwas passed providing that all public schools within twenty miles (32 km) of any incorporated town or village had automatic admission into that town or village regardless if they were open only for grade school students or also offered high school education; this provision applied equally to Massillon since it was considered part of Cincinnati at the time. Consequently, when Franklin Dealing took office on January 20th [1925], he ordered local officials not to admit any more students from Butler Township into Massillon than necessary due to overcrowding at their own schools there already caused by previous admissions orders from Columbus! In 1957 issue #1B+#2A published two articles about Merrill Broadcasting Company located adjacent to Middletown High School between Belleview Ave & US 36W . These articles show how local residents were protesting attempts by Merrill management - through their attorney -to build a tower taller than 100 feet (30 m) without prior consent from local authorities! Kindergarten children playing nearby saw construction activity going on but didn't know what it meant until later when they heard adults shouting “This is illegal!”

The town of Massillon, Ohio was founded on a piece of land that is now part of the city of Columbus. It was named after Captain John Massillon, who arrived in 1795 and platted the town. The first white settlers came to Massillon in 1810. The town grew rapidly during the mid-19th century, thanks to its strategic location at the intersection of two major wagon roads. In 1828, Massillon became the county seat of Harrison County. Massillon experienced a significant growth period during World War II as it became an important manufacturing center for munitions and other military goods. In 1945, the city merged with surrounding towns to form the larger Columbus metropolitan area. Today, Massillon is an ethnically diverse community with a strong sense of community pride and social support.
Massillon was founded in 1788 by the Reverend Samuel Adams. The town was originally called "Abingdon." In 1801, Massillon became a part of the United States. The city was named after General James Wilkinson, who fought in the American Revolution.
