In 1810, Reverend James G. Moore of Marysville organized a Methodist congregation in the village. In 1812, the school was founded, and in 1815, the first Methodist church was built. The Rev. John Aiken preached from this church from 1818 to 1830. In 1830, the Methodists split over theological differences and Reverend Aiken moved to Cincinnati. There he founded what is now known as First Presbyterian Church there in 1834.
Marysville is a community located in Findlay, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,856 at the 2010 census. The first settlers in what is now Marysville were Indian traders who came from the area around Sandusky, Ohio in the 1790s. A post office called Marysville was established in 1836, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1892, a group of Methodist ministers and their families moved to what is now Marysville from Lima, Ohio. The pastor of First Presbyterian Church there recommended that they name the community after his mother's birthplace – Mount Lebanon (now Philadelphia). In 1902, Cincinnati-based WPA planners designed a new town plan for Findlay which included MarysVILLE as one of its planned neighborhoods. The Mount Lebanon Elementary School building still stands today on Main Street near the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Park Drive; it served as a school until 1957 when it was replaced by the current school building on North High Street. In 1938, architect Edward Burnham designed and erected one of two monumental stone structures associated with WPA projects in Findlay – the other being Bankers Trust Tower (now called FirstEnergy Tower). Both buildings were dedicated on October 15th of that year; Burnham had also designed and built White Hall School across Euclid Avenue from Independence Hall which served as home to local businesses before becoming an elementary school. On November 1st of that year (the day after Halloween), residents of Marysville voted to annex into neighboring Findlay Township via referendum without any prior discussion or vote among those living within either township boundaries; annexation took effect on November 2nd. At its peak population during World War II (1941-1945), MarysVILLE had populations estimated at over 10,000 people. Marysville was founded by the brothers William and John Morse in 1788. The area now comprising Marysville was part of the town of Wooster until 1814, when it became a part of Cincinnati. In 1825, the village was renamed Marysville after Martha Washington. It is located on the banks of the Monongahela River, about 12 miles west of downtown Cincinnati. The first settlers in what is now Marysville were farmers who came to the area from Pennsylvania in 1788. They built their homes on high land that had been purchased from the Muses by Colonel Robert Nicholson. The family name originated with Reverend John Morse, who served as pastor at the First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia from 1793-1800 and then went to Ohio where he established another church at Marysville in 1800. William Morse, John's brother and namesake, started farming near present day Marysville around 1800 and began trading goods with other early settlers along the river for salt water fish which he could sell upstream. He also developed a cotton gin hereabouts which traded goods with nearby Middletown for raw cotton until it became an important transportation hub during American independence period because there was no other way to get raw cotton to market without shipwrecking it across Lake Erie or downriver to Kingston. In 1814, when Wooster merged into Cincinnati as an incorporated village, MarysVILLE remained separate as a rural hamlet on Coyote Run Road northwest of downtown Cincinnati with a population of around 100 people (the corresponding figure today is just over 20). However, despite its small size, significant economic importance due to its location close to both downtown Cincinnati and Middletown – home base for many early transportation routes –MarysVILLE experienced little growth until after World War II when new housing developments began moving into this rapidly gentrifying section of central Ohio; initially steamboats travelling downriver brought workers ashore for jobs at mills such as those at Painted Ladies Brewery before eventually becoming streetcar suburbs like Over-the-Rhine (now Dormer Heights) and Brighton Beach (later Beechwood Hills). In 1947–48 Pittsburgh developer James Wachtel purchased large tracts of valuable agriculture land east of downtown Cincinnati including much within modern day MarysVILLE; immediately beginning construction upon purchase were two ambitious projects: One involved creating one million square feet (90 acres) of indoor/outdoor mall known as “The Park” while concurrently developing Maryland Avenue between Third Street NW and Fifth Street NW into one massive arterial road connecting Downtown Cleveland with Northwestern neighborhoods; this major project eventually resulted in demolition of some original buildings within “The Park” while leaving more than 60% intact today making it one world class shopping center surpassed only by Madison Square Garden among older inner city malls – ground zero for post-war suburban renewal throughout much Northeast Ohio following World War II! The town of Marysville was founded in 1792 by George Washington and his wife Martha. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Ohio River and its natural resources. In 1814, Marysville became the capital of the newly created United States of America. The town was renamed Cleveland in 1837 after Cleveland, Ohio, which had been donated by the town's namesake, General John Cuyahoga.
