This event is known as the Battle of Fallen Timbers Creek or "The Day Of Defeat." Following this victory over Native America, settlers began arrive in droves to explore this newfound land formerly belonging to the Shawnee Nation. As settlers poured into this newly explored area, they set about developing different industries such as lumbering and agriculture. By 1830, there were more than 100 businesses operating inMarysville alone! After World War I ended, many soldiers returned home and Marysville slowly lost its importance as a commercial center. However, it continued to be known for its cheese production until 1985 when that business went out of business too
