Marysville is a town in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The original name for the community was Mechanicsville after John Denton Mclntyre who founded the first post office in 1824. The village of Marysville was laid out in 1827 by James Fenton anduben Brown and named for his daughter Mary. In 1830, David Ladd bought the majority of the land comprising present-day Marysville from Nicholas Sprague and laid out what is now known as Main Street on it. He also built a gristmill and sawmill on this site which are still standing today. In 1833, another pioneer named Isaac Hatch bought land adjoining Ladd's mill site and laid out North Main Street which became the commercial artery of today's town. In 1835, General David Humphreys built a store at what is now South Main Street and called it "Humphreys' Store". One year later he donated land to Marysville village to create an incorporated settlement which included all of present day MarysVILLE except for two square blocks located east of High School on current State Route 17A where John Jay Gaylord developed a large blockhouse farmstead that remains today as one of Trumbull County's unique attractions - home to both its historical museum (which opened in 1984) and its annual Fourth Of July parade! The first post office inMarysVILLE was established on November 15th, 1834 by Jno Craddock with Wm Henson serving as clerk . The town grew rapidly due to trade with surrounding villages such as Wooster (now Findlay), Cuyahoga Falls (now Cleveland), Ashtabula (now Lima), Euclid (now Strongwater), Sandusky (now Mentor) & many more! By 1840 there were over 100 residents living here including 20+ businesses! In 1847 when Trumbull County merged into Summit County ,MarysVILLE became part of Summit Township ! This township had 4 wards & 2 school districts !! When TrumbullCounty disbanded in 1907 all vestiges ofMariesvilie ceased but not before some great people like Mrs Steeler took careof things until they were finally razed during World War II !! Today you can see most everything that once stood here still standing right next door including churches steeple & bell tower !!

Marysville is a city in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 7,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton Combined Statistical Area. The first permanent European settlers in what is now Marysville were Methodists from North Carolina who came to survey a land grant in 1796. They named their new settlement after Mount Zion, which they had seen from their home state on Sunday morning while attending services at Trinity Episcopal Church on the edge of town. The first post office in Marysville was established on December 12, 1810. In 1829, the town became the county seat of Trumbull County; and in 1892 it became part of Cleveland. In 1911, an express train derailed and burned near what is now downtown Marysville; as a result, much of downtown was destroyed and rebuilt using local lumber and other materials. The building that still stands today as the old courthouse (now used as a library) dates back to this time. In 1916, during World War I, Marysville joined with other towns in central Ohio to form the "Ohio National Guard District" under military command for military training purposes only; however, no fighting took place here due to lack of resources at that time. In 1933-1934 there was severe weather here that caused extensive damage to buildings including several churches and several homes; some estimates put total damage at $1 million dollars ($ when adjusted for inflation). On November 25th 1934 Mayor Clements announced that all water supplies would be turned off by him because he felt it necessary to prevent further damage from happening if power could not be restored soon enough – fortunately power restoration began very quickly and all systems returned back on within minutes! This event marked one point during which public opinion changed about Mayor Clements’ leadership abilities – many people appreciated his willingness to take risks without waiting for assurances things would stay calm before taking any actions or making any announcements- something he would continue doing until his death in 1984! After years of being ravaged by natural disasters like this one (and others), MarysVILLE went through its own fairly significant tornado outbreak on May 10th 1992 which left over 50% loss across 3 blocks centered around First Presbyterian Churchyards - though injuries were thankfully limited throughout most of this outbreak (though 2 fatalities did occur). Though devastated again following another major tornado outbreak less than year later there has been recent growth with new development overallin Downtown & West Side areas both involving jobs & investment opportunities!

Beginning in the 1840s, Marysville was a thriving community located on the Scioto River. The town developed due to its location on a major transportation corridor and the opportunity for manufacturing and trade. In 1848, the town became one of the first in Ohio to be organized as a village. In 1870, Marysville was renamed after General George Washington and his wife Martha (the daughter of Colonel John Cadwalader). The name change attracted more residents to the village, which grew rapidly until it reached its peak population in 1900. By 1910, however, Marysville had declined significantly and all but disappeared from Ohio history.
