In Marion, Ohio, there is a history to firearms that goes back to the early 1800s. One of the first firearms in this area was a lock picker and swivel gun. Marion is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Ross County. The population was 54,651 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Muncie metropolitan area. In 1855–1856 Mayor Ebenezer Everett built what is now called "Everett Park" on land donated by Everett after he purchased 4 acres west of downtown from Colonel John Dickson; Everett park today includes several blocks along Woodland Avenue between Fifth Street and Vine Street which are home to many local businesses including The Gilded Cage restaurant where President Obama ate his first meal as president on October 23rd 2009 during his visit to Columbus! On December 5th 1893 US Senator James Kildare announced plans to build a canal across lower Muskingum River near present day Akron – based on information obtained from three travelers who had toured that area two years earlier – much to local anxiety; however upon further inspection it was realized that there would be no need for such an expensive project given that railroads already connected Akron with Toledo and other nearby towns (the same railroads still run through Akron today). A group led by banker Jno Ewing organized citizens into committees to study various possibilities including building a canal instead – eventually resulting in construction starting on November 3rd 1896 but only reaching full completion ten months later due to funding problems encountered along the way!

They named it "Isle aux Meadows" because of its many meadows. A post office was established at Marion in 1810, and a store and hotel were built there soon after. In 1836, the Miami Canal was completed through this area making goods shipping much easier and facilitating trade between Cleveland and points east. This growth led to incorporation of the town as a village in 1867 by order of then-Mayor John Hustedt. Thereafter, growth stagnated until World War II when new industry arrived here including shipbuilding and aircraft manufacturing along with several thousand people moving into the town during that time period thanks to wartime job growth opportunities. In addition to its role as an industrial center during wartime times, Marion also experienced significant population growth following television pioneers RCA Victor's establishment of their main corporate headquarters here in 1957 (the company has since relocated) as well as independent film production companies such as Universal Studios Hollywood (until recently Leavesden Films) which set up shop downtown before moving out into newer facilities across Euclid Avenue during the late 1990s/early 2000s; both industries have since come back strong with multiple new productions announced over recent years throughout Greater Cleveland à la "MGM Grand". Despite these booming times however – which have seen more jobs created than ever before – crime rates remain high throughout most parts of town giving it one of Ohio's highest ranks for extracurricular delinquency rates among small towns or rural areas; making it difficult for young adults fresh off college or just starting out life in an urban area like Cleveland or Akron to feel comfortable living here long term despite having access to many social services available should they choose do so without fear of criminal activity taking hold prematurely outside their home residence With all this said however; there are some bright spots throughout history such as when local farmers successfully lobbied for increased funding from state legislators resulting in passage of legislation legalizing medical marijuana dispensaries serving residents within minutes' walk thereof – something that has helped attract talented cannabis cultivators & entrepreneurs alike who continue Lion's Den Farms operations today even while recreational use remains prohibited statewide! In 1814, the United States acquired Marion County from the British. The county was named in honor of General James Wilkinson, who fought in the American Revolution. The first courthouse was built in 1815, and it served as the county seat until 1830. In that year, a new courthouse was constructed on State Route 5 near what is now downtown Marion. The first justice of the peace was elected here in 1830.
