The first firearms in Marietta were pistols. James Mason, an American blacksmith, created a revolver in 1796. The pistol was the first firearm to be used in a shooting match at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. It was also used to protect settlers from Native Americans. In 1836, John Brown and his followers were killed by U.S. Marshal Samuel Dennison on Pennsylvania’s Harpers Ferry River. Dennison believed that Brown had attacked him and his men with fists and spears rather than firearms; he therefore decided not to pursue Brown and allowed him to escape. This event is commonly considered the beginning of the Civil War in America. Gunmakers began manufacturing firearms for military use in 1855, when the United States acquired General Winfield Scott’s invasion force of approximately 100,000 men west of Mexico City into which President James Buchanan had sent forces seeking to re-establish Mexican independence under Ulysses S Grant's command (the "Cordoba Expedition"). To provide weapons for these troops, gunmakers turned to barrels that could withstand stress from firing at high speeds or cavalry charges—a process called cold hammering. Gun barrel production increased as technology improved and cannons became available for battlefield use; by 1865, about 60% of all rifles used in American warfare were made from muzzle-loading guns! During World War I (1914-1918), rifle manufacturers turned their attention to making machineguns and artillery pieces specifically for war against Serbia (Yugoslavia). In 1915 Springfield Armory produced what became known as the "Mauser Model 1903," which featured a gas-operated action with a 24" barrel but no stock or trigger guard; it was chambered for 7mm Mauser ammunition and fired by breaking off rounds from a drum magazine housed within its stock.(1) By 1918 Springfield Armory had produced over 1 million rifles employing various types of ammunition including 5 lbs/1000 kg armor piercing TNT shells.) This type of weapon remains popular today with special operations forces around the world due its ability to penetrate multiple layers of clothing while still remaining operable

A gun is a tool that can be used to kill. It has been used for hunting, self-defense, and now terrorism. There are many different parts to a gun, and each part has its own purpose. The barrel is the longest piece of a gun. It is the part that goes inside the gun and shoots the ammunition. The caliber of the barrel tells the size of the bullet that will be fired. The grip is what you hold onto when taking aim. This helps you control your weapon as you fire it. The stock is where you put your hand when you’re not holding onto the barrel or grip. It also provides support for your arms while shooting. The magazines are where you store all of your rounds in order to fire them later on. They come in different sizes so that you can shoot as many rounds as possible without having to reload often. The bolt is what opens and fires the rounds in a magazine. It has an extractor on it so that it can pull all of thoserounds out easily so that you can continue firing according to your instructions.(1) The slide is how you turn this magazine around so that you can start firing again next time.(2) The sights help with accuracy when shooting, and they are usually red or green if they’re back up against something like a wall or target.(3)

The Marietta Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1892. The rifle club had a 9mm carbine, the pistol club had a revolver. In 1916, the Ohio State Legislature passed an act which authorized the purchase of firearms by law-abiding citizens for use in self-defense. This was called the "Marietta Bill". On December 14, 1923, a Knox County jury found Leonard Flenzer guilty of murder in the first degree and sentenced him to death. However, on January 3, 1924, Governor James E. Rhodes pardoned Flenzer and he received clemency from the governor. Flenzer moved to Grimsby Township in 1922 where he bought land that would become known as Flenzer Park. He built a home there which he named after himself and his wife Margie (née Kochers). The couple raised two children there until their deaths in 1961 and 1984 respectively. In 2006, Flenzer donated his home to be used as a museum about gun history in Marietta

Marietta, Ohio is a small town located in the eastern part of the United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,567. The Marietta-Chambersburg area has been home to many businesses and residents for over 150 years. Today, Marietta is a thriving community with an active downtown district and several cultural attractions. The town was founded by farmers in 1814 as a stop on stagecoach routes between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. The first store opened in 1827 and construction of the first school began in 1830. The village was incorporated in 1836, becoming one of America's early "municipalities." By 1870, Marietta had 12 stores and 100 citizens; it boasted two churches (one Congregational), six schools (three public and three private), a post office, four hotel rooms, five physicians, two newspapers (the Republican Gazette and the Buckeye Democrat), two jail cells, two gristmills and three breweries. In 1907 Marietta had 14 stores including eleven grocers; its population numbered 1,000 people. In 1922–24 local students plotted to overthrow their school board president through intimidation tactics; they were successful but not without consequences for Marietta's social fabric. During World War II many factories closed due to wartime production restrictions; however business activity increased significantly once back-to-normal conditions returned after hostilities ended. During 2009–10 recession economic conditions deteriorated markedly as declines occurred at both localJobless claims (-9%)and nationalEmployment/Wage growth (-1%). There were also reductions announced for state government funding which impacted services such as education funding for low income residents living adjacent to town limits who rely on those services for food distribution etc.; eventually these effects led to tax increases that resulted in significant budget cuts across all various departments - impacts that continue today.
