Gun barrel history in Marietta, Ohio began with the founding of the city in 1837. The first gun barrels were made from logs and planks. A few years later, a sawmill was built in what is now the north end of town. The mill used to produce barrel boards which were used to create firearms barrels. These cannons arrived just in time for hostilities against Spain in 1814 and soon became very popular among American soldiers because they could fire over three hundred shots per minute! As a result, this type of projectile weapon quickly became known as artillery! It wasn’t until around 1830 that firearms producers started producing rifle barrels specifically designed for military use instead of simply creating handgun or shotgun cartridges with same dimensions (i.e., .44 Magnum calibers). This change was due to increasing competition from other firearm manufacturers who felt that rifle barrels offered better performance than handguns at much lower prices! Rifle barrel production continued until about 1875 when it all stopped due to technological advancements!

The first settler in Marietta was George Washington Herndon, who arrived with his family on July 11, 1814 and named his home Herndon Heights after himself and Captain John Herndon of Portsmouth naval squadron who helped supply American forces at Battle of Bunker Hill

The town rapidly grew and soon became a manufacturing center for cloth, paper, boots, shoes and other goods. In 1853, Marietta was renamed Cleveland after American president James K. Polk. The city's growth continued during the great industrialization of the 20th century as factories moved from Ohio to Michigan and then to Pennsylvania and other states. By World War II, Cleveland had become one of the largest cities in America with over 1 million residents. However, because of its location on an urban-suburban continuum, Cleveland experienced significant economic decline in the 1970s and 1980s as mass production moved out of the city and into more developed areas such as Akron or Toledo. Today, much of Cleveland still functions as a bedroom community for suburbanites; however it remains a major cultural center for Northeast Ohio.
The city of Marietta, Ohio was founded in 1788 byNicholas Vail. The city had a population of about 20,000 in 1800 and grew to over 100,000 by 1820. The city was named for the German river Märkischer Königreich which flows through the area. In 1824 the United States Congress created a new township within the limits of Marietta and it remained a part of that township until 1881 when it became an independent municipality. On January 1, 1901, Marietta incorporated as a village and on February 15, 1912, it adopted its current name.
