The first holsters were made from animal skin and calfskin. In 1892, Maple Heights was incorporated as a village and holstermakers became an important part of village life. By 1920, Holster company had moved to its present location on Euclid Avenue in Maple Heights. In 1938, Holster company merged with another leathermaking firm, Browning-Bergman Firearms Company, which led to the development of what is now known as Browning-Bergman pistols. The HOLSTER COMPANY brand continued to be manufactured by Browning-Bergman Firearms Company until 1984 when it was purchased by American Made guns Incorporated (AMG). This led to the development of the American Made Custom handgun line which continues today under the name Starline Armory
Maple Heights, Ohio is a town in the Athens-Canton, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,639 at the 2010 census. Maple Heights is located in Lucas County. It is part of the Cincinnati Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Maple Heights was John Pym who arrived on May 10, 1796. The town was named after maple trees that were found near the present-day site of town. The first post office opened in 1811 and continued to serve until 1836. In 1837, Maple Heights became a village when it merged with neighboring townships of Athens and Delaware to form the Township of Athens-Delaware. In 1902, due to an increase in population and development along State Route 63 (now US 30), Maple Heights annexed portions of the villages of Delaware and Parkersburg to form a new municipality known as Parkersburg-Delaware Village Incorporated #2 or simply Parkersburg. On November 3, 1912, because its territory had been taken up by other municipalities within parksburgh township including Monroeville and North Eldridge Streetsboro Boroughs which also ceded their wards for parkerville township boundaries changes; Parkerville Village Incorporated #3 came into being with its own government separate from that of Parkersburg Township proper which continued to exist under state law until 1959 when it too merged into neighbouring Township governments through annexation again resulting in what is now known as Maple Heights Municipal Corporation#1 On July 1st 1890 by order of then Governor George W Webster there were two companies organized for cutting logs for a sawmill on Cedar Street opposite Springdale Baptist Church owned by Samuel Knowles & Company; this mill started operations on September 15th 1890 grinding hardwood boards which became known as "Maple" Hardwood Flooring soon after as it dominates almost all product sales today From this early start production increased rapidly becoming one of largest lumber interests east coast before moving operations westward into current day Clintonville where they still operate today making them one half way around world capital city primary producer many times over flooring supplier

Maple Heights is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,332 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settled area in what is now Maple Heights was on the east side of Lake Erie, near where there are now several neighborhoods of that name. In 1796, John Hennepin built a cabin here and named it after his farmstead in Canada. This location became Maple Grove when Hennepin's land was combined with other lands to form the township of Maple Heights in 1824. At its peak during World War II, Maple Heights had a population of 5,000 people. Maple Heights became a village in 1951 and discontinued official municipal government on November 15th 1957; however, it still remains an important agricultural center for surrounding communities. Its post office operated continuously until 1909 and its ZIP code is 44115. Today’s economy focuses primarily on agriculture but some retail development has taken place over recent years including a small grocery store and two restaurants located downtown which serve primarily local cuisine from within miles of their locations as well as antique stores and more recently Dick’s Sporting Goods which anchors one end of an outdoor mall complex complete with indoor shopping areas as well as youth soccer fields across three laneswrapper sizeable playing fields with artificial turf)
Maple Heights was first settled in the area now known as Maple Heights, Ohio by French Canadians in the late 17th century. The post office at Maple Heights was established on December 8, 1811, and named for themaple trees that grew near the town. maple tree stands are still present today in the town and remain a part of its history. The area around Maple Heights became part of Washington County, Ohio during the mid-19th century. In 1868, Washington County was divided into three parts: eastern Washington County became Lucas County, western Lucas County became Muskingum County, and southern Muskingum county became Maple Heights Township. The Township had been formed from land east of Cedar Street which ran through what is now Maple Heights. The township's first settler was Isaac Goodrich who arrived in 1798 with his family from Quebec. Goodrich furrowed someland near what is now Elmira and built a log cabin on it in 1800. He named his new settlement after Mount Royal (the peak of which is located in Montreal), Canada's most prominent mountain range at that time. Goodrich's cabin remains standing to this day and can be seen from Elmira Avenue north of downtown. Goodrich served as captain of a company called "The Rangers" under General James Caldwell during the American Revolution; he later served as justice of peace for Muskingum County and then as sheriff from 1821 to 1830. In 1828, Goodrich married Sarah Holmquist; they had two children before she died in 1835 childbirth due to complications following their marriage. goodrichs descendants still live in Maple Heights today
