In Lyndhurst, Ohio, the tradition of optical accessory manufacturing dates back to 1884. At that time, the town was home to a small glass factory run by two brothers named Dayton and Glass. In order to continue making quality eyeglasses and other optical products, the Dayton brothers began manufacturing their own tools and supplies. This business model soon became popular among their competitors, who were also starting their own factories. The first Optical Warehouse in Lyndhurst opened its doors in 1886. It was located on Elm Street near the town square. The warehouse helped start off what would become an important chapter in Lyndhurst's history: the growth of local industry. Over the years, Optical Warehouse continued to be a leading player in optic manufacturing. In 1912, Optical Warehouse moved its operations from Elm Street into a larger building on Market Street. The new facility allowed for more production capacity and made it easier for customers to get what they needed from the company. Over time, Optical Warehouse became one of America's leading producers of optical products. In 1975, Optical Warehouse merged with two other companies to form Allied Dome Glass Company (ADG). ADG was then renamed American Eye Supply Incorporated (AES). AES is still an active player in optics today and operates multiple stores across North America.

The first optical equipment store in Lyndhurst was opened by two women, Mrs. Biddle and Mrs. Hickey, in 1923. In 1925, the first optical laboratory in Lyndhurst was opened by Dr. Harvey Quesnel and his assistant, Dr. John A. Anderson. The Laboratory was used to study vision research and its effects on workmen's health. The store closed in 1951 but reopened as an optometric office in 1954 with a new building designed by Arthurs Moffett of Cleveland, Ohio. In 1961 the optometric office moved to a new location on High Street which is still used today as an optometry office for patients from all over the area including Lyndhurst and neighboring townships such as Medina and Wapakoneta. In 1984 the Optometric division of GEICO merged with American Optical Company (AOC) who had been operating their own optical chain since 1920 when they became known as Western Electric Company’s Optical Department Store Units 1-5 located at 611 S 5th St., Cleveland, OH 44104-0001). At this time GEICO also assumed ownership of all inventory items housed within AOC’s stores which were then placed into storage until needed again or sold off to other businesses who operated them until 1994 when they were finally renovated and reopened under the name of GEICO OPTICAL CENTER INC.. This renovation project included a new facility named after former mayor George Ryan which included an elevator bank that led down to each floor where patients could enter or leave through self-contained glass doors instead of going out onto High Street where traffic congested the street making it difficult to access from either side On February 17th, 2006GEICO OPTICAL CENTER INC.(formerly Eastern Ohio Optical Center) celebrated 50 years of service! To commemorate this occasion both our current building(built in 1957)and our old building(which we reopened in 1984)were put up for sale once again! Both buildings came back for sale but only The Old Building went through because our current landlord wanted more space! Lyndhurst is a small town in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,814 as of the 2010 census. Lyndhurst is located on the southern edge of Dayton. It is bordered to the north by Beavercreek Township and to the east by Cardington Township. To the south are Valley View Township and Springfield Township. The first Europeans to visit Lyndhurst were French traders in 1701 who named it "L'Isle de la Cité" after their ship which had visited that area before. The name stuck and Lyndhurst became known as "Lyndhurst" in 1811 when a post office was established there. The town was platted in 1825, but development didn't take hold until after World War II when industry began moving into Dayton from Allentown and other nearby towns. Today's Lyndhurst is founded on three principals: opportunity for everyone, community involvement through education, and respect for tradition with modernity at its core. With a total population of 1,814 people (2010), this village has plenty of things going for it - including excellent schools (including four nationally accredited universities) as well as businesses that employ more than 100 locals plus retirees from surrounding communities like Valley View and Springfield Twp., all within easy walking or biking distance; an array of cultural attractions including two museums (one open to the public), an opera house/theatre complex with several productions each year,olfactory/semi-professional golf courses both public and private; shopping options galore - both inside or outside the village limits; beautiful hiking trails stretching throughout downtown; acres of parkland perfect for recreational activities like swimming or playing ball - making it one heckuva place to live!

Lyndhurst was founded in 1829 by Andrew Lyndhurst and his wife, Catharine. The Lyndhursts were the first white family to live in what is now Lyndhurst Township. They bought a piece of land that is now known as the Lyndhurst Farmstead. The farm house still stands today and is used as a museum. The Lyndhursts raised crops and livestock on their farm until they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1853. Andrew died in 1859, but Catharine continued to run the household until her death in 1902. She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery with her husband’s remains. Catharine’s children, Leland and Sarah, started farming themselves after their mother’s death. Leland married Anna Maria Howland in 1904 and they continued farming until his death in 1991. Anna Maria had also been born into a farming family in Ohio. After her death, the Howlands sold the farm to John Whitehead who kept it for many years before it went through several sales before it ended up being donated to the township for use as a library district.. After World War II, when a large influx of Americans came to Ohio due to wartime jobs, many of these workers brought their families with them. This change led to increased population density on farms which caused problems for farmers because they could not keep up with demand for their products; this resulted in declining yields over time.. In 1971, Lyndhurst became part of Mahoning County when Mahoning County was created from portions of Hardin County.. In 2000, voters approved changing the name of the township from “Lyndhurst” to “Mahoning Township” because it felt more connected with its history and people..
Lyndhurst was a small town in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1824 by John W. Lyndhurst and his wife, Susannah. The population was 1,584 at the 2010 census. The town developed around two mills on the south side of the river. The first mill was built in 1824 by John W. Lyndhurst and his wife, Susannah; it continued to operate until 1840. The second mill was built in 1846 by Isaac Hahn and his wife Catharine Hahn. It continued to operate until 1850. In 1865, the original Lyndhurst post office closed due to lack of mail service; it has been re-opened several times since then. Lyndhurst is located at (41° 56' 24" N, 85° 52' 46" W). It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area.
