Lyndhurst, Ohio is home to the gun target history museum. The museum was founded in 1984 by a group of community members who were interested in preserving and displaying the city’s firearm heritage. The museum has since grown to include more than 100 pieces of firearms artifacts from throughout Lyndhurst’s history. The Museum began as a small collection of handguns and ammunition stored in an old car dealership. Over time, the Museum added new pieces of weaponry to its collection, including cannons and rifles from both World Wars. In addition to firearms, the Museum also specializes in ammunition from around the world. Today, the gun target history museum is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Lyndhurst. Visitors can explore more than 30 exhibits onGun Targets: From Prehistoric Times to Modern Firearms One of the unique things about this place is that all weapons used during different periods are displayed together, such as artillery fire from 18th century cannons or rifle shots from Revolutionary War battlefields. It is believed that the first rifle shooting event at the Lyndhurst Range took place on November 5, 1915. In 1937, the Lyndhurst Gun Range became a state-of-the-art pistol range. The current name of the range is The American Legion Armory and Shooting Range located in Lyndhurst, Ohio.
Lyndhurst is a small town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Lexington–Muncie metropolitan area and is the only incorporated community in that region. Lyndhurst is located on the edge of a rural area which has been greatly changed by development over the past few decades. The first permanent settler in what would become Lyndhurst was John Tryon in 1814. By 1830, there were five families living here: Tryon, Johnson, Burnett, Dufresne and Post. By 1860, there were twenty-four families living here; Tryon had died two years earlier. In 1892, much of what now makes up Lyndhurst was platted as a village by Jno.[1] That year Methodist Episcopal Church (later First Baptist) built a church and cemetery here. A post office operated here from 1886 until 1907; it was moved to Dayton in 1909 when Lyndhurst became an independent township. The first school in what would become Lyndhurst opened in 1887 with grades one through four; it continued to be open until 1954 when it closed due to lack of students and money for expansion. One of the earliest businesses established in Lyndhurst was George Wertheimer’s grocery store which operated from 1889 to 1898. Other early businesses included A & P Grocery (1893), Hennepin Carpet Mills (1896), J&J Cafe (1901), Mrs Ladd’s Nursery and School (1903) and Gables Fordcar dealership (1905). The first housing developments began appearing around this time as well including Beechwood Place subdivision which developed near the intersection of Nolensville Road and State Route 155B about 1912-13.,[2][3][4] Parkview Drive Developed soon after along State Route 156 between 1913-16.;[5][6][7] Addition #1A - 1915,[8] Addition #2 - 1916.[9] When World War I began officially on April 6th 1914 with Germany declared an enemy nation under President Woodrow Wilson,[10][11], many people left their homes for military service including many farmers who entered into production agriculture during that time period; once again many residents lost their homes during that war asBattlefields like Bellefonte Ridge were fought within sight or sound of their villages

Lyndhurst was founded in 1814 by George Lyndhurst, a Quaker. The town is located in the southwestern corner of Montgomery County, Ohio, and is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. George Lyndhurst emigrated from England in 1795 and started a millinery shop on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. In 1814 he established a small town on what is now Lyndhurst Avenue in what was then part of Toronto Township. The first settler was John Ryder, who arrived in 1815. By 1830 there were over 100 residents living in Lyndhurst. A post office was established at Lyndhurst in 1827, and by 1840 it had become an important transportation center for the area because of its location near the river and good roads. In 1850, when Cleveland became an independent city, Lyndhurst became its second city; it retains this distinction to this day. In 1865 President Andrew Johnson delivered his famous speech from Greater Cleveland before Congress about Reconstruction – one of many events that led toLyndhurst's growth as a major African American community during that time period. During World War II many workers from Lindhurst contributed their skills to help make America's wartime production possible; most notably through their involvement with JBL Company (now known as Akerman). The population peaked at 2,500 around 1960 but has declined since then due to suburbanization and loss of employment opportunities within local communities throughout Ohio. Today only 150-200 people live insideLindhurst limits while 1-2 dozen people visit each year for concerts or other events which include picnic/fairs taking place outdoors on open fields adjacent to high school gymnasiums which are used also for varsity baseball games played annually during summer months between 9am & 5pmAlthough there are no plans currently underway by either side to redevelop any real estate within parameterLyndhursts vibrant downtown core remains largely intact today although some redevelopment may be forthcoming once again with large infrastructure investment being contemplated for western section across busy Prospect Ave where 3 large apartment buildings have recently been built directly next door without disturbing much historic architecture although they will not add much new value overall . There are ongoing efforts however by some elements within both municipal government as well as developers trying to resurrect some sense of community spirit though these initiatives often run into resistance from certain segments within both parties Tentatively called ""'Leeds plan"" targetting primarily older housing projects along Cedar Rd which would offer more affordable rents closer towards downtown with accompanying retail development including grocery store space
