Lyndhurst is a small town in southwestern Ohio, United States. The population was 2,918 at the 2010 census. The name Lyndhurst comes from a 1722 land grant to Thomas Lyndhurst. It is named after Sir John Lyndhurst who donated the land for the town. The history of Lyndhurst can be traced back to 1812 when General Andrew Jackson and his army invaded Ohio during the War of 1812. In response to this invasion, local farmers banded together and formed an independent militia known as "The partisans." These men fought against Jackson's forces until he withdrew from Ohio several weeks later. After that event, many people inLyndhurst decided to settle down and live a more peaceful life. In 1821, Colonel Nathan Bedford Forrest traveled throughLyndhurst on his way to purchase land in Kentucky. While in town, he met some of the local farmers who were organizing themselves into an agricultural society known as "The Model Township". Colonel Forrest became interested in this new society and returned home with a number of ideas about how to improve things within it. He also brought along some friends who helped him start up the society - including Benjamin Fenton (the first white settler in what is now Lyndhurst). During their time living in Lyndhurst, these men developed close relationships with many of their fellow villagers. They were able to learn about their lives and experiences so they could make better decisions for their future selves. This process eventually led to them forming what is today known as The Business Men's Association of America (BMA). Over time, other groups joined The BMA - including the American Labor Union (ALU) and The Garment Workers' Union (GWU). These organizations helped form one of America's most powerful unions! After years of hard work and determination by these important members of society, Lyndhurst reached its current level of success over 60 years ago! Grant's secretary of war from 1865 to 1869. The Great Lakes Chocolate Company was founded by William Sweeting in 1903 and became one of America's largest chocolate manufacturers until it merged with Nestle in 2007. The town has been home to many small businesses over the years including a hat shop, gas station, feed store and general store all operated by residents themselves until they were taken over by larger businesses in recent decades. In 2006, a new $5 million chocolate factory was built on land donated by local ranchers near the historical old mill complex that once housed Sweeting's operations; production began later that year and continues today under the name Lindhurst Chocolate & Coffee Factory LLC.* In 2018*, Lyndhurst received national recognition for its role as birthplace of Cadbury Schweppes American Dairy Milk which originated from an early production run at their then-owned hinterland farmstead near Newarkville on Olentangy River near Cleveland†* Production ceased due to financial difficulties in 2016 but resumed under new ownership ** Lindhurst Chocolate & Coffee Factory LLC

This led to new hotels and restaurants being built along main streets such as Findlay Street and Broadway Avenue throughout the decade – making Lyndhurst one of central Ohio's most popular tourist destinations today
