Lebanon, Ohio is a town in Holmes County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron-Canton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1824 and named for Mount Lebanon in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The first settler in the community was George Aiken. In 1830, John Hance built a log cabin on what is now Main Street. In 1831, David Fenton platted the area around present-day Lebanon and erected a large blockhouse on what is now State Road 693. From its early days as a small frontier village through the years of wagon trains and stagecoaches traveling through Holmes County carrying settlers to new land grants near Cincinnati and Cleveland, Lebanon experienced many changes - from pioneer society to boomtown during the late 19th century when railroads arrived and brought new economic opportunities to townspeople. In 1892, after decade of planning by Mayor Jeptha Meeks and members of his predecessor's city council bench committee chaired by Judge Augustus Payson Crump (a future mayor), Highway No. 7 was routed through Lebanon via Township Road 1 north from Dayton to Ohiopyle then east on Township Road 3 south to Bushnellerville before continuing northwest on Ulysses S Grant Boulevard (now I-675) into Cleveland until it crossed over into Summit County; this made Lebanese one of only two towns in Holmes County that had their own highway system.(the other being nearby Bushnellerville.) Elected officials who served during those years include: first mayoral term (1892–94) Jeptha Meeks; second mayoral term (1904–1906) Jacob Dennett; third mayoral term (1910– 1912) Hiram Lodge Newton; fourth mayoral term (1920–22) James Worthy Harding; fifth mayoral term (1928–30) Edward Condon Cooksey Jr.; sixth mayoralty(1940–42) Franklin D Roosevelt; seventh mayoralty(1945—present). Today most residents commute using public transportation or get jobs outside of their home county each day - with some still commuting within their home county each weeknight if necessary due to services offered by local agencies such as Kent State University’s Department of Transportation which provides free rides for students every morning between 5AAM and 9AAM.(details can be found at www2 lebanonohio dot org). The economy has been positive since 2000 when businesses opened up throughout central Ohio thanks to job growth in technology companies such as Apple Inc., Facebook Inc., Microsoft Corp., Salesforce software company inc., Genentech biotechnology company etc.; tourism industry has also exploded with visitors coming from all around the world including Europeans wanting access to ancient sites while others come for shopping sprees at local malls like Greater Columbus' Shops at appliesburg mall etc.; there have been several construction projects completed recently including an upcoming dollar store planned for downtown which will create 400 jobs plus another restaurant/bar project adjacent thereto set for completion later this year called "Pizza Place" which will employ 100 more people than currently employed thereabouts given that both projects are completely unrelated but share one common goal: creating much needed foot traffic throughout downtown!

Lebanon, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located about 12 miles (19 kilometers) east of the city of Columbus and 18 miles (29 kilometers) north of Cincinnati. The population was 784 at the 2010 census. It has a history that goes back to 1798 when two families from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, settled in what is now Lebanon Township on the Scioto River near present-day Huntington Heights. The first store in Lebanon was established by Isaac Asbury in 1814 and it was here that he met his future wife Mary Pickersgill. In 1827, John Fenton opened a store next door to Asbury's and it was here that he began trading goods along the Scioto River for supplies needed by soldiers fighting in the Mexican War. During the American Civil War, Lebanon fought on opposite sides but ultimately sided with Union forces over Confederate General Robert E. Lee's army. After the war ended, many people from Lebanon returned home and started businesses such as sawmills and grist mills which continue to operate today. In 1881, construction began on what is now known as State High School which would become one of America's largest high schools for public education. The school still exists and offers classes from pre-kindergarten through college level courses today. In 1915, Lebanon lost its mailing address due to changes in postal service but later received an update to its postcode system which has remained unchanged since then!

The country experienced another recession in 1973-1974; however, LBJ's policies helped make America competitive again by increasing exports and creating new jobs during this time period.
