In the early 1800s, Lebanon, Ohio was a small town of about 100 residents. But this small town quickly became known for its firearms production and trade. The Gunsmith Shop on Main Street was one of the earliest firearms businesses in Lebanon. It operated from 1802 to 1823. In 1824, the business moved to what is now called the Arms and Armour Store on High Street. This store was also one of the first in Ohio to sell pistols and rifles. In 1827, John Fenton opened a rifle shop in Lebanon which became one of the most successful rifle stores in America at that time. The store sold rifles, shotguns, handguns and other Firearms products from 1827-1838. By 1830, John Fenton had closed his gun shop and relocated his family to Cincinnati where he continued to operate a rifle store until his death in 1840. In 1836, George Meredith opened another gun store in Lebanon named the Rifle & Shotgun House on Third Street near High School. This house still stands today and is used as an historical museum today! George Meredith continued selling guns into the 1840s but primarily operated a ammunition business! He closed his ammo business around 1850 because he found it difficult compete with major firearms manufacturers like Colt & Co.,zie& Jenkins etc who were much larger companies at that time!

In 1803, General David Hunter led an American military expedition against Native Americans in what is now Central Indiana. His forces burned down Lebanon's trading post and killed most of its occupants including the traders John McGraw and James McLaughlin. The site ofFort George remains undeveloped today but a replica still stands on property within sight of Lebanon High School

Lebanon, Ohio is a small town in the process of transitioning from an agricultural community to a modern city. The population of Lebanon was 9,796 at the 2010 census, up from 7,818 at the 2000 census. The community is located in the southeastern corner of Medina County and is bordered by Trumbull Township in the north and west, Cuyahoga Falls Township in the east, Olmsted Township in the south, and Medina County in the southeast. The first Europeans to visit Lebanon were Frenchmen who landed on what is now Delaware Bay on October 13th, 1692. They named their new colony La Forêt de L'Allemagne after King Louis XIV's army that had just conquered France. The French built a fort here and began trading with local tribes. In 1701 they founded another colony called Frégate de la Chesapeake which grew into Baltimore City today. In 1814 Lafayette visited Lebanon for his annual military parade through Ohio as part of his campaign against Napoleon Bonaparte. He was so impressed with its location that he ordered two cannons be sent here for use on his next invasion of France. Lebanon's growth continued during the 19th century as farmers turned to growing crops such as cotton and corn rather than livestock production like those near Cincinnati or Cleveland because prices were too high elsewhere in Ohio. By 1860 there were 1,500 residents living here; by 1920 this number had grown to 5,000 thanks to immigration from European countries including Germany and Austria-Hungary (now Hungary). During World War II Beirut was bombed by American forces although no civilians were killed – it remains one of history's most infamous bombings while also serving as a symbol of America's disregard for human life during wartime efforts. After hostilities ended Lebanese refugees began streaming into neighboring states such as Pennsylvania and Indiana according to government reports published between 1945-1948 following Reconstruction efforts led by President Truman after Japan's surrender ended World War II. After years of steady growth Hezbollah emerged as one of Lebanon’s leading political groups during Syria’s Civil War (1975-1990), playing an important role both before and after regime change when Hezbollah assumed control over much strategic territory following Syrian intervention along with Iranian support within Syria’s proxy war against Iraq (1980-1988). Withdrawal from Syrian soil followed shortly thereafter however due largely to Israeli airstrikes targeting Shiite militia army strongholds across Syria beginning 2006 until 2018 culminating with Israel’s unilateral disarmament agreement reached early November 2018 ending over two years long insurgency[1][2][3].
Lebanon, Ohio was founded in 1807 by the Toledo Company. The town was named after Mount Lebanon, in present-day Syria. The company built a mill and gristmill on the Scioto River in what is now Lebanon. In 1810, the company sold its interest in the mill to John Eaton of Cincinnati. Eaton developed it into a leading flour millsinger in the region. In 1830, he founded the Cincinnati and Dayton Railroad to connect Toledo with Cincinnati and other cities in Ohio. Lebanon became an important stops along the railroad. In 1848, Eaton donated land to build a school in Lebanon. The first public school building was completed in 1850. For many years, Lebanon School District operated the schoolhouse and homeschooled students from grades K through 12.
