Lakewood is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the shore of Lake Erie. As of the 2010 census, the population was 47,313. The name "Lakewood" is derived from a word meaning "a meadow west of the Huron River." The first settlement in what is now Lakewood was founded by Nicholas Wright in 1794. In 1803, John Sutherlin bought land within present-day Lakewood and built a sawmill and gristmill on it. In 1814, General David Walker burned down Sutherlin's mill after discovering that he had been cheated by him in bidding for the land. In 1825, General George Washington Carver set out to find a new home for his family after they lost their farmstead at Braddock's Landing in Pennsylvania. He recommended that they move to what is now Cleveland because of its fertile soil and lack of natural resources. On November 3, 1825, Carver purchased two lots on which he erected a house called "The Oaks". It was one of four houses built by Carver in Cleveland during his presidency as President James K. Polk's Ambassador to Russia (1829-1830). In 1870, local developer Julius Rosenwald developed an open-air shopping mall called Rosenwald Park which became one of the most popular entertainment destinations in Cleveland until it closed its doors in 1984 due to financial difficulties. After World War II ended with Japan's surrender and Korea becoming an independent country, many American servicemen left their bases throughout Asia and returned home via boat or plane to their respective hometowns across America - including those stationed at Fort Snelling Army Base near Minneapolis/St Paul – only to find that their families had already moved away or were living elsewhere under different names entirely! One such serviceman who made this return journey was Harry Weems who had been stationed at Fort Snelling during World War II as part of the United States Marine Corps Reserve Unit 1st Battalion 12th Marines (1944-1945). Upon his return home from Japan and upon learning about his family’s location where they lived “under different names altogether” – far from where he served – Weems decided that this must be better than continuing to live under another name all alone! So instead of returning back home like so many others before him, Harry walked eastward along I-35W towards Toledo until he reached Akron whereupon he took Amtrak Train 2237 southbound toward Detroit then walked northbound along Woodward Avenue past field ranches into central Ohio! This unique experience allowed Harry Weems to connect with friends and relatives whom he may not have otherwise known existed outside his military service area!

Lakewood, Ohio is a city in the northern part of the U.S. state of Ohio and the seat of Lucas County. The population was 33,521 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1801, land measuring only 5 acres (2 ha) was donated to build what would become Lakewood by Major General William Henry Harrison from his estate in Delaware Township on the southern border of present-day Cleveland. Lakewood's first settler was Isaac Neebles, who arrived in 1807 and built a log cabin on a small island in Holmes Creek. In 1814, Captain John Dickey founded Dickey's Landing on portions of what are now Long Island Sound and chain sawed some 1,000 feet (30 m) widepaths along what is now State Route 145 from nearby Amherst to connect with Toledo through present-day Erie County before soldering together two pieces he had cut from an old cannonball found near Perrysburg. Lakewood is a city in and the county seat of Lake County, Ohio, United States. The population was 26,816 at the 2010 census. It is the fifth-largest city in Lake County and the fifth-most populous city on the Great Lakes region. The area that would become Lakewood was first settled by Native Americans in the 1780s. The town was named for Colonel John Crampton of Warrington Township in 1789. By 1800, three settlements had been formed: One near where present-day I-75 meets US-13 (then called Indian Path Road), one on what is now East First Street between Main and Independence Streets, and another northwest of present day Elmira Avenue between Third and Fourth Streets. In 1802, a Post Office was established at what is now Waconda Avenue in downtown Lakewood; it remained operational until 1868 when it was moved to its current location just north of campus at Central High School. In 1824, part of what would become Waconda Township became part of Mayfield Township; however, Mayfield merged with other municipalities within her boundaries to form Springfield Township in 1838 which incorporated as a village under the name of Mayfield Heights; this village also amalgamated with other villages within Springfield Township to form Westlake Village in 1888 which incorporated as a city proper under the name of Westlake. On November 3rd 1898 by an act approved by both houses of Congress (HJ 7055), Oakland Pharmaceuticals Corporation's main products were exported from Cleveland into New York City through Cleveleysville Bridge across Erie Canal The original town site contained only two lots - one east of Elmira Avenue on Center Street and one west off Center Street next to where I-75 currently meets US-13/Indian Path Road. There are extant buildings located on these lots including many residences dating back to before 1900 such as The Gables Hotel which still stands today on Center Street adjacent to nearby municipal water tower #2
