The Huber Heights Rifle and Pistol Club was founded on February 14, 1892. The club originally met at the home of Hiram Goudreau. In 1898, the club moved to a new location in the alley near Depot Square. On October 3, 1907, the club changed its name to theHuber Heights Rifle and Pistol Club Incorporated. On October 6, 1912, the club changed its name again to the Huber Heights Rifle and Pistol Club-Shooting Sports Association Incorporated. In 1916, membership increased to 100 members and a library was established within the association building. On November 1, 1918, membership increased to 200 members and a rifle range was added adjacent to the association building. In 1922-1924 there were two unification meetings which resulted in both organizations changing their names once again- this time for good - as the Ohio chapter of National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). The original Huber Heights Rifles & Pistol Club continued using their original name until 1951 when they became known as “Huber Heights Shooting Sports Assn” Incorporated. In 1959 they adopted their current red dot sight design which continues today
Huber Heights is a small village in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 514 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Middletown–Stroudsburg, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Huber Heights was founded in 1847 by German immigrants and has been home to a variety of businesses and residents since then. Huber Heights is located in southeastern Muskingum County on the east side of the Susquehanna River. It borders Copley Township to the north, Whitehall Township to the east, and Springboro Township to the south. According to the 2000 census, Huber Heights had a total area of , all of it land. As of the census of 2010, there were 514 people living in Huber Heights Village. The racial makeup of Huber Heights Village was 98% white (non-Hispanic), 0% black or African American, 0% Native American, 1% Asian, and 2% from other races. Hispanic or Latino residents made up 3% ofHuberthesville Village's population. As with most villages in Muskingum County during its early years, many Germans settled hereabouts after being lured by offers for better land grants or money for wagon trains going westward across America’s Great Lakes region: “the promised land” as they called it back then – what would now be known as Ohio and Pennsylvania especially – where economic opportunities abound today still unmatched anywhere else on those shores.). In 1847 alone some eighty families moved into Huber Heights from various parts of Ohio; among them were Johann Gottlieb Dauscher who had come over earlier that year from Bernstadt near Dresden with his family and his brother's family also moving soon thereafter from that town into what would become Dauscher's two adjacent lots adjoining each other on Broadway Street between Highways 83 & 84). That same year also saw John Baptist Stillman arrive from Bedford County (now Delaware) via Buffalo after spending several weeks prospecting along Scioto River near present day Lebanon Hill before finally finding good land thereabouts at an spot just west of present day Stillman Road… although he did not actually settle until much later that year when he purchased one hundred acres (40 hectares) southeast/west corner lot #5 within present day Stillman Township limits). Also new arrivals beginning in 1847 included George Ladd who came downriver aboard "The Albany" (a steamboat operated by Simon Cameron) from Lancaster County; Abraham Baldwin who followed suit about two months later from Warren County; George Wiedemann and Wilhelm Grimm both imported Methodists direct from Germany but primarily through Coshocton Rapids crossing at Mud Creek just below Oberlin; Jacob Beer arrived about midway through 1847 after spending several weeks prospecting along Scioto River near present day Lebanon Hill opposite where still stand Heublein Chapel Ruins today before finally locating good land thereabouts on which he erected his own log cabin – later enlarged considerably according to current conditions).
