In 1814, Major General George Washington visited this area while campaigning against Native American forces east of Cincinnati and decided to establish an outpost at what is now known as Frémont's Hill in order to keep them from raiding other settlements in that area. The Ulysses S Grant military campaign of 1864 resulted in extensive gold discovery along the Scioto River between Cincinnati and Dayton; this led to increased activity throughout central Ohio around these two cities such asHuber Heights where mines started up again around 1830s with some still operating until shortly before World War II when they closed due to competition from new Findlay aluminum smelters built nearby by Lake Erie Shipping Company Ltd.. After World War II many small businesses closed down due to competition from larger companies but one mine continued operation until it shut down earlier this year due mainly to environmental concerns about heavy use of coal dust inside ovens for baking goods which caused health problems for workers over time Today there are few remaining businesses including: an auto parts store, small grocery store, bank lending institution (now part of Bank One) and one residence complex which contains five apartments

Huber Heights is a community located in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. It was platted in 1827 and named after German immigrant Johann Huber. The community has been occupied by various families since its foundation, and the present-day structure of Huber Heights was built in 1905. The first inhabitants of Huber Heights were the Wehrle family who arrived around 1795. The Wehrles left behind three children: John (1796-1868), Anna (1802-1875) and Friedrich Wilhelm (1800-1872). Anna married George Hanks in 1822 and they had six children: Julius (b. 1824), Martha Jane (b. 1830), George Augustus (b. 1832), Caroline Augusta (1835-1901), Rachel Julia (born c. 1840) and Eliza Maria Hanks (born c. 1846). In 1800, the brothers Friedrich Wilhelm and Julius Wehrle also arrived from Germany Settling on a farmstead that would later become part of Huber Heights Township . Friedrich Wilhelm Wehrle operated a grocery store for several years before moving to Cincinnati in 1827 to open his own grocery store which he called "The Wagon Wheel". He continued to operate his business until his death in 1865 at the age of 83 years old. His son Julius wehrled it for many years before it closed down around 1957 or 1958 due to economic conditions at the time; however, parts of it still remain extant today as a museum within the town limits of Hubertown
Huber Heights was founded in 1892 by Gustavus Huber and his wife, Emma. The town became a prosperous center for agriculture and industry, hosting a variety of businesses such as the Huber Sawmill, the Huber Furniture Factory, and the Heublein Brewery. In 1924,Huber Heights was renamed in honor of John M. Huber, an American industrialist and philanthropist who helped to establish Cleveland's Economic Development Authority. In the 1960s and 1970s, Huber Heights underwent growth spurts due to its location on Lake Erie Boulevard between Van Buren Street and First Avenue. In 1984, local officials created the city of Hubertown withinHubert Heights boundaries to promote economic development within the town. In recent years, however,Hubertown has experienced declining popularity due to its lack of commercial amenities and its proximity to larger cities such as Cleveland.
