Huber Heights is a village in the unincorporated community of Huber Heights, Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,514 at the 2010 census. The first settler in Huber Heights was John Hauer in 1811. The village was laid out in 1837 by James Green and named for German Immigrant Simon Huber who had come to America that year. In 1839, the village received a post office from Scioto Township. In 1868, the Village of Huber Heights incorporated as a town under the name of Mayesville. The town lost its charter in 1870 and reverted to its original name of Huber Heights on January 1, 1971. On July 15, 1975, the town lost its charter again and became an unincorporated community once more under the name of Huber Heights. According to the 2001 census there are 1,451 people living withinHubert heights limits; however this figure may be inflated as residents have recently moved into new homes or updated their information with new addresses since then- including those located outside of village boundaries. In 1816, the area that is now Huber Heights was part of the township of Findlay. In 1824, it became a part of the newly formed village of Findlay. On December 3, 1830, it became a part of the new city of Cleveland.
