From this early beginning there has been an intense and continuing rivalry between two knife firms (Gibson and Sheffield) in the town of Greenville - with each company produced thousands of different kitchen knives over many years! Some very fine examples are still being made today by both companies! One of the more famous victims of American violence was James Buchanan Murphree who died from a heart attack after stabbing three people at a Cleveland dance hall on October 11th 1901. Much older remains can still be found today near White Oak Canyon such as an old gristmill dating back to 1794 that still stands next door to Kirtland Hills Elementary School complex off US 22 southwest of Downtown Greensvlille.. As part as being located on topography that varies from flat farmland bordering Scioto River Valley all around town limits down into rolling hills throughout much lower parts extending into Stark County all around it also gave it one major advantage over other cities during its early years not only because it had more room due mostly to its location but also because it had access bothto rivers for transportation resources which other settlements lacked like roads leading directly into them making access easy for goods or people going inland or outside their boundaries important assets especially since this period beforeroads were becoming increasingly important not only for trade but also military purposes

Greenville was founded in 1795 by Nicholas Heath. The town acquired its present name of Greenville, Ohio, in 1814 from a survey made of the area which later became part of Columbus. At first it was called "Hocking" because that is where the Hocking River flowed. In 1817, Greenville became the capital of Ohio and still holds this title today with its government being based in Columbus. The original mill on High Street still stands as a historical landmark and is now used as a museum.
