Green, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Summit County. The population was 16,912 at the 2010 census. Green, Ohio was founded in 1809 by Captain John Green as a township in the Scioto County of Ohio. The village of Greenville was incorporated in 1814 and the town of Greenville in 1836. In 1847, Greenville became the seat of Scioto County government. The county courthouse located at what is now downtown Greenville was moved to Dublin in 1957.
