Today, Garfield Heights remains one of the most affluent towns in central Ohio despite experiencing some recent setbacks such as decreases in employment levels among high-income earners and falling home prices over recent years; however, its strong economy has allowed it to remain relatively stable overall since 2000 when Census data first showed declines (although still above median income). Despite these challenges, some remaining residents continue to support Mayor Dave Auerbachs Vision for growth which includes creating more jobs throughout all sectors while also preserving/enhancing public resources including parks/greenways/instructional structures etc.; he currently leads a coalition that plans on achieving these goals through ballot initiatives next year should he be reelected mayor
