From 1951 through 1974, The Armoury Corporation made rifles for American Arms Corporation (AAC). In 1976, AAC merged with Stevens Corp., which led to the production of handguns by Stevens as well as rifle barrels for AAC products. In 1984, Springfield Armory merged with Gearhart Firearms Company. This merger led to the production of handguns by Gearhart as well as rifles and shotguns by Springfield Armory until 1999 when it merged with Benelli USA Incorporated. Since then, BenelliUSA has produced firearms under its own name as well as contracted out manufacturing services to other companies such as Smith & Wesson and Glock among others.

In 1881, Garfield Heights was founded as a small village on the east side of Cleveland. The town grew rapidly during the early years of the 20th century, and by 1920 had reached its current size. Machineguns continued to evolve over the years and eventually became one of the most popular armaments in World War II.

Garfield Heights is a city in, and the county seat of, Champaign County, Ohio, United States. The population was 24,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Garfield Heights is home to the Garfield Heights Museum and Park and the University of Dayton's Hocking School of Business. The first Europeans to visit what is now Champaign County were French travelers on their way from Canada to Illinois in 1792. They called this area "Champlain's Land", after François-Jacques Cartier who explored it in 1629. On May 9, 1794, John Trumbull and other delegates from Connecticut voted in a resolution to rename Champaign County for George Washington because he had been an important player in their state's struggle for independence from Great Britain. The name was chosen by a committee appointed by Trumbull and approved by his colleagues on July 10th. The new county had no tax or legal status until 1803 when it was authorized by General James Klemperer to levy taxes for military purposes as part of War of 1812 preparations against American aggression. In 1800, Peterboro Township – located east of present day Garfield Heights – became part ofChampaign County along with all the other townships within that region including Strongsville (which would be absorbed into Covington Township two years later). In 1821, one year after becoming a township rather than a village because much growth was happening within its boundaries caused by annexation by neighboring villages (such as West Chester), Peterboro residents voted to make themselves a separate municipality known as "Garfield Heights." On October 15th 1830 they did so with a charter from then-Governor Nicholas Macomb which spelled out their rights as citizens thereof: " . . . every male inhabitant over twenty five years old shall have free access to education therein; And such schoolmaster may appoint any person he thinks proper having competent instruction." As Village No 1 per se Garfield Heights never collected property taxes although assessments were levied on properties within its limits until 1870 when they became Township No 2 through annexation with Strongsville & Richlandtown which happened due largely to railroads arrival beginning in that decade making goods more affordable & accessible townwide (& these changes are documented online here: http://www2a0d7bfecc1c9e1fitnessmanagersguide2daycare providersinohio20142018). After annexing Strongsville & Richlandtown both Villages elected trustees - first William Waddell then Alfred Pease - each serving 4 year terms starting January 1st 1871 thru December 31st 1875 inclusive before being succeeded by Paul Reuss November 1st 1876 thru March 31st 1880 inclusive finally Edward Ahern August 29th 1890 thru June 30th 1895 inclusive thus creating today's City Limits! Finally September 3rd 1900 via Act 382 granted Constituent Assembly power over Municipal Affairs giving them authority not only over Schools but also Fire Department etc...thus ending 50 yr wait for this long awaited change! "On October 15 1830 [Garfield Heights] citizens voted to make themselves [a separate municipality] known as "Garfield Heights".
