Garfield Heights, Ohio is home to the world's second oldest ammunition company, The Arsenal. Founded in 1867 by J.B. Morgan and George Atwater, The Arsenal was one of the first businesses in America to produce muzzleloading guns and pistols. In 1903, The Arsenal became part of Armour & Ammunition Company, which continued to produce firearms and ammunition until 1986 when it merged with Brownells Corporation. Today, Armour & Ammunition Company manufactures a wide variety of firearms products including revolvers, pistols, shotguns and rifles. It also sells reloading supplies and appears regularly on television shows such as "The Rifleman" and "Gunsmoke".

Garfield Heights, Ohio has a rich ammunition history. The first shot fired in the city was a rifle ball that hit a tree in 1812. The first cartridge to be used in the city was an old percussion cap cartridge that was developed by Major Andrew Johnson in 1827. The city's earliest gunsmiths were George Stephenson and his son-in-law Eli Whitney. In 1868, Garfield Heights became home to the first of America's two black firearm dealers, John Aiello and His Sons. In 1905, the Garfield Heights Rifle Club was founded and continues to function today as one of the oldest rifle clubs in Ohio. In 1932, President Franklin D. Roosevelt visited Garfield Heights and signed Executive Order 13438 which prohibited discrimination on the basis of race in all aspects of American society including firearms sales and use within the City limits. This order is still enforceable today through local ordinances passed by municipal councils throughout Marion County, Ohio
Garfield Heights is a city in the southern part of Ohio, United States. The population was 27,838 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. Garfield Heights was founded on May 30, 1892 by George Washington Garfield and his wife Maude. The community was named after General PhillipsGarfield who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as U.S. Minister to Mexico City. The city became a village on October 15, 1919 when it merged with Maplewood Township to form Arlington Heights Township. In 1952, Arlington Heights Township split off from Cleveland as an independent municipality and incorporated as Garfield Heights again on November 3, 1952. On February 17, 1997, Garfield Heights annexed the villages of Parkland and Winchester Village to its boundaries making it one city for all of Cleveland proper with a total population of 506,644 residents The first settlers in what would become Garfield Heights were farmers who came from Virginia in 1814 looking for land that could support cotton plantations that had been established there since the early 1800s. When they reached upriver they met Indian people who were living near where water leaks now exist in Market Square so they decided not to go further and built their homes around these leaky spots instead (the square still has many these days). The first school opened in 1818 and taught white children while Native American children attended nearby Seneca Lake or other nearby sites because no schools existed for them then either due to war or treaty restrictions placed upon America by Great Britain following its victory over France in the Battle of Waterloo four years earlier In 1869 Captain Nathaniel Hawthorne explored what would become Garfield Heights along with fellow pioneers John Cranch and James Halliday while trade carpenters led by Butch Cassidy helped build a canal through present day Elmira which connected Seneca Lake with today’s downtown Cleveland After reaching this point Hawthorne sent out several smallpox infected hunters into surrounding areas seeking

Garfield Heights, Ohio is a small town in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,912 at the 2010 census. Garfield Heights is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The early history of Garfield Heights can be traced back to 1800 when two brothers named Nicholas and George founded a farm in what is now the town of Garfield Heights. In 1814 Nicholas died and his brother George took over the property and began to build a house on it. The first post office was established in 1816 by John Clements with the name of Johnstown (now known as Westlake). The first pastor in Garfield Heights was Rev. James Hering who served from 1818-1822. In 1827, a schoolhouse was built on Second Street near present-day Superior Avenue and it remains one of the most popularElementary schools in Greater Cleveland today. In 1830, four years after Christopher Columbus discovered America, he landed on American shores at what is now Harbor Beach on Long Island Sound. His ship "Pinta" became stranded here while trying to return home after exploring new waters off North America’s east coast. A group of men led by Captain David Barron set out to find him and they located him ashore on September 13th 1830 but did not board because they were afraid he might have brought death with him across the ocean into this new land that had been discovered by Europeans! On October 6th 1830 same group found another Spanish sailing vessel which had also become stranded here for unknown reasons about 25 miles offshore from where Pinta had been found! They called this site Isla de las Gaviotas (Island of Whales) because there were numerous large whales seen surrounding both Pinta and this latest Spanish sailing vessel! It wasn't until 1840 when an Englishman named Joshua Niles visited America and tastedAmerica's sweet Caribbean flavor that he realized this place could be something more than just an isolated island! He renamed it Harbor Beach after himself – an event which took place during his presidency as President of Harvard University (1797-1801). In 1867, a building lot containing current day Fourth Street between Superior Avenue and Euclid Boulevard was donated by Drury & Dayton Publishing Company founder Zephyr Teachout under the condition that no church or educational institution would be built on it without prior consent from their company president Drury himself! This agreement came to fruition when First Baptist Church metamorphosed into Garfield Heights United Methodist Episcopal Church (now Bethel Bible Fellowship) in 1895 following their merger with First Methodist Episcopal Church in Cleveland – making them one congregation within one denomination for all eternity! Reverend Charles Epps officiated at their consecration services!! That same year saw another acquisition when Greenan Brothers Hardware store moved from its original location at Third Street corner Broadview Avenue into its current space just south of Fourth Street!) It wasn't until 1906 that Mayor Harry Sargent put together a committee to study possible annexation into neighboring Strongsville Township due to increasing population density along Lake Erie waterfront properties adjacent to downtown Cleveland – leaving much speculation among residents about whether or not they should move away due to rising costs associated with such an annexation!!! Ultimately decided against since Strongsville Township already included many other municipalities within its borders including Mentor, Mayfield Village, Fairborn Mills etc!!!
