By 1900, nearly alluvial soils had replaced sandstone for building materials in much of central Ohio; transportation became critical to growth thereafter as farmers turned to irrigation techniques to improve crop yields while continuing to build railways to carry goods eastward into larger markets such as New York City and Philadelphia." Economic changes during World War II led to increased manufacturing activity in Fremont as well as new housing developments such as Hi-Tech Village which sprang up around Interstate 71 south of town between 1967 and 1984." Today's dominant industry continues to be health care with hospitals like UC Health working out OFA approvals for multiple sites within close proximity; however energy production has become increasingly important with nearby OneidaWindsStorey Generating Station generating 4 MWatts – more than any other site currently under construction or planned in central Ohio."

But because triggers were attached to barrels at different angles (usually off-center), this caused many accidents and shootings that resulted in fatalities. In 1853, George Stephen developed a trigger mechanism that followed modern standards, which allowed guns to be fired by simply pushing down on the trigger instead of pulling it. This change immediately made pistols more safe and sensible for everyday use.

Fremont's development continued through the late 19th century with growth in manufacturing and agriculture; during this time it also saw significant growth in population due to waves of Irish immigrants coming to work on construction projects throughout central Ohio during the early 20th century. In 1912 – shortly after Ohio achieved statehood – Fremont incorporated as a city under its own charter with a population of just over 10,000 people living primarily within its downtown core and some outlying areas such as South Park Street Southwest and Euclid Avenue Northwest. The years following World War II were marked by rapid postwar suburbanization across central Ohio that led to increased competition for jobs among both locals and outsider populations; while many businesses closed down during those years, others experienced success through mergers or acquisitions over the ensuing decades culminating in today's downtown core being home to more than 50 independently operated businesses totaling nearly $1 billion in annual sales statewide alone since 2002!
