Findlay, Ohio is a town located in the state of Ohio. According to the 2010 census, the population was 382. It is part of the Dayton-Middletown-Springfield, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1836 by John Findlay and his family. The first gun shop in town opened its doors in 1841. In 1897, George Denny started manufacturing shotguns here. Ammunition manufacturing began in 1907 with Samuel Adams Powder Company. The current company that makes firearms here was formed in 1911 by John Amos and his son Charles Amos. Hunting rifles were manufactured here from 1915 until 1957 when it merged with Winchester Arms Company to become Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester). Firearms production ended here in 1979 after being purchased by Beretta USA Incorporated (Beretta). The history of Findlay goes back to 1836 when John Findlay settled on a farm near present day Findlay, Ohio with his family. He decided to open a gun store because he thought this would be an important industry for the community and because guns were needed for hunting and defense purposes. The first store was built on what is now known as Main Street which served as the shop's headquarters until 1840 when it moved to what is now Second Avenue. From 1841 through 1897, George Denny operated this business alone until he partnered up with his brother-in-law James Aiken who became one of the most successful merchants of our time within this industry due to their innovative marketing techniques used throughout their stores across America including those found in Dayton and Middletown, OH! When World War I erupted and demand for munitions increased, Geddney’s business grew even larger! By 1925 they had three stores operational; one each at Fifth Avenue & Ontario Streets NW., Clairmont Road & Euclid Avenue SW., and Clinton Road & US 36 S./IL&WI/PA border! In 1934 they took over operations of Wernher von Braun Aircraft Corporation’s ammunition plant located on Clifton Boulevard just east of downtown Dayton! Here they produced both airguns (.22 caliber) projectiles “Fenway Park Arsenal” rounds chambered for .30 caliber rifle bullets using Blanchard proofing technology while also providing handloading services! By 1938 they were producing 1 million rounds per month outproducing all other ammunition producers combined! Unfortunately during World War II their plant was bombed causing significant damage which limited production capacity but did not stop them from continuing operations through 1945 despite having no choice but to mothball many assets including their major product line!] After hostilities ceased there wasn't any real need or demand for ammo so management decided it would be best folded up into BerettaUSA Incorporated where handgun manufacture continued until 1979 before ceasing altogether due primarily to government regulations prohibiting sales outside the United States Of America] Today much like then firearm manufacturing has returned with new companies incorporating reloading equipment onto existing plants along with new products such as high quality suppressors!]

Findlay is a town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,895 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Mahoning County. The area that would become Findlay was first settled by the Algonquian-speaking Shawnee in the 17th century. European exploration began in 1614 when the Swedish explorer Bernhard Leyden explored what is now northeastern Ohio and found a landing place for his ship, "Viking" on the Scioto River. In 1797, French explorer Francois Cartier named this area "La Salle" after Jean-Baptiste La Salle, captain of an expedition that had discovered and mapped parts of North America east of Quebec City. In 1812, crews of USS Constitution under Commodore John Denny chartered HMS Guerriere to explore Lake Erie and its tributaries including the Scioto River. On September 8, 1812 – one week after Constitution's voyage ended with her loss off Detroit – Captain James Cushing led a group of nine men from Fort Pitt (now Pittsburgh) overland to Findlay where they erected a temporary fortification called Fort Erie on June 30, 1813 during their return trip from exploring Buffalo Bayou (the upper course of the Allegheny River). There were no permanent settlements until 1830 when George Carlin established Carlinville on land he bought from Nicholas Hahnfeldt near present day Findlay Township. On November 1, 1830 General David Silliman's army arrived at Ransom's Bluff on Xenia Creek just upstream from present day Findlay Township and burned all buildings within three miles (5 km). This event marks one of several occasions when Native Americans were displaced by white people in central Ohio Territory during Tecumseh’s Rebellion era. The burning demonstrated American military power as it demonstrated that Indian nations could not exist without European support or recognition which culminated in Treaty No 5 dated December 7, 1830 between President Andrew Jackson and Chief Pontiac ending Michigan’s sovereignty over portions west of caring designated as “Indian Territory” pursuant to executive order No 42 dated October 15 preceding that date; following which General Silliman destroyed any remaining Indian villages or settlements not completely evacuated by December 7 Santa Anna’s Mexican Expedition having removed all but about two hundred warriors under his command across Lower Canada into Texas during September 1800 principally against Spanish missions at San Antonio de Bexar some 24 miles [38 km] SW San Antonio de Bexar founded by Father José Arguelles Barragan along grant number 2158 given to him by Governor Manuel Micheltorena on January 20th Arentz donated 640 acres [240 ha] lying northwest corner line between First Street & Third Avenue East Twelfth Ward Chicago Streets running due south thence northeast corner line between Third Avenue EastTwelfth Ward & Second Street Southwesterly bounds OF CHICAGO ABANDONED BY THE INDIAN NATION IN 1861 AND THESE DESTROYED AREAS WERE LOTS VICTORIA LINCOLN LOT 508 NONCONFESSED ANTIQUITIES ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER WITHIN AROUND FIFTEEN MILES OF IT INCLUDING AT CARLINVILLE WHERE THEY WERE DISCOVERED BY MISSOURI STATE LICENSURE OFFICE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF MR. Findlay, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 5,851 at the 2010 census, making it the smallest municipality in Franklin County by population. Findlay is located about 15 miles (24 km) north-northwest of Columbus and 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Dayton. The name "Findlay" is from an Indian word meaning "settlement." It was platted in 1836, and named after Colonel John Findlay, who surveyed the area for the American Fur Company. The first post office in Findlay was established on July 1, 1837. It served as the village's only USPS facility until its merger with neighboring Gallipolis on February 17, 1907 to form Findlay-Gallipolis Township. The township's first mayor was Lewis Pritchardt. In 1940, when trustees voted to rename Gallipolis as Dayton because of World War II bombings at that city's military airfield there had been no vote to change the name of Findlay to Dayton proper; however this decision was challenged by some residents who felt that their community should retain its original name given its importance within town limits and historical ties thereto. In 1948–49, chemical plant workers which were housed along I-75W flooded into town following a leak from a Claymore mine near Triadelphia Pike residences also became homeless due to those working at those plants leaving their homes without food or water during that time A local fundraiser netted over $1,000 towards relief efforts for those affected by flooding while many people still living in high rises paid dearly for what they considered an ecological disaster According to The Gazetteer: “A group composed largely of women organized themselves into committees and raised funds through bake sales and auctions held throughout town” with proceeds going directly to Save Our Village/Ohio Valley Conservation District which purchased land adjacent to I-75W between Buckeye Road and Interstate 71 where they would build a new park serving as both shelter for displaced families as well as education center for children growing up around the plant and surrounding communities

Findlay was founded in 1804 by James Findlay and his wife, Susannah. The town was named for the Findlay family's holdings in what is now Westmoreland County. The first store in Findlay opened on October 25, 1804. By 1830, the population of Findlay had grown to around 100 people. In 1827, James Findlay donated land to build a school and one year later, a Methodist church were built in the town. In 1842, John Gough became the first mayor of Findlay. The next year saw the opening of a hotel and post office. In 1863, Ohio's first electric streetcar line arrived in Findlay from Cleveland. By 1870, the town had become an agricultural center with around 60 farms and 10 businesses located within its limits. In 1896-97, finds were made at nearby Zanesville that led to increased research into coal mining methods which led to increased production throughout America during this time period; also during this time period foundries began manufacturing products such as automobiles and radios using coal mine slag as raw materials In 1914-15 there was an outbreak of World War I which caused many factories to close down due to military enlistments; however most mines continued operations until 1923 when all but two remaining mine fields closed due to poor health prospects for their workers The 1920s also saw significant changes take place within American society withthe advent of television In 1950-51 President Harry S Truman moved the White House from Washington D.C., adjacent to Capitol Hill across Pennsylvania Avenue from Georgetown University so that it could be used more effectively as a presidential residence As part of its redevelopment plans following World War II, Pittsburgh city planners decided that downtown should be vacated for use as an open-air shopping mall called Duquesne Plaza which would include several department stores including Julliard’s Department Store However because other important municipal functions were still conducted upstairs at Independence Hall (now known as US Capitol Visitor Center), Downtown remained operational until 1974 when it was officially renamed Independence Mall after then Mayor Dick Thornburgh
