In 1861, during the American Civil War, many foundries in central Ohio closed their doors due to lack of customers or supplies from suppliers abroad. As a result, severalgun magazines opened their doors across the state to provide weaponry and ammunition to those who could not afford it from either commercial sources or locally sourced materials. Thanks to this influx of new blood into the publishing world with access to technology that hadn't been available before, gun magazines quickly began transitioning from mostly hand-to-hand combat related publications into more self-publishing types of publications with more editorial control over content (e.g., "Gun News", "The Rifleman", etc.). Notable among these early publishers were John Fenton's Western Publishing Company and Cyrus Hargrave's Harper & Bros.. In 1865, when warfare ceased in America following Abraham Lincoln's inauguration as president, most gun magazines went back underground until they reappeared circa 1870 under various new ownership with similar goals/purposes (e.g., teaching firearm safety). By 1900 there were over 100 active gun magazines statewide employing approximately 2200 individuals utilizing printing presses located throughout Ohio (with an additional 150+ diesels) manufacturing firearms including pistols and shotguns using both traditional methods like lithography/typesetting and digital technologies like photography/scanning/printing onto high quality paper stocks which allowed for faster production times while also offering higher quality images that helped differentiate these publications from others on the market at that time

In 1847, saloons began to open in Findlay and soon there were severalgun magazines located throughout the town. In 1865, JF Morse opened his own gun store on Main Street and soon became known as one of the most successfulgun stores in Ohio. He introduced many new products including firearms, ammunition, and sporting goods. Morse also helped develop Findlay into a popular tourist destination with its plentiful cultural attractions such as art galleries, theatres, churches, and restaurants. In 1936, Ralph Balthazar took over ownership of Morse's store and changed its name to Balthazar's Firearms & Ammo Emporium. Balthazar's continued to be one of Findlay's most successful businesses until his death in 1984. In 1990s Wernher von Braun installed video cameras insideBalthazar's store so that customers could watch livefire demonstrations of their products from outside the store

Findlay, Ohio is a town in Northwest Ohio. The population was 28,471 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Muncie–Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Founded in 1814 by colonists from Pennsylvania, Findlay became a village in 1827 and then a city in 1903. The city was renamed Findlay in 1907 after its founder, James Fendall Findlay. In 1960 the city annexed the neighboring town of Bellefontaine and that year it had a population of 38,531. The combined populations of Bellefontaine and Findlay are now 60,898 people. The first settler in what is now Findlay was John Campbell who arrived on July 5, 1814 with his family from Erie County, Pennsylvania via the Monongahela River. He named his land "Findlay" after his birthplace – finding it very difficult to find water supplies near where he lived so he settled on high ground east of present-day Bellefontaine Road and built a mill that he called "Campbell's Mills". By 1830 most settlers had abandoned Campbell's Mills due to lack of water or other difficulties; however some continued to operate it until about 1840 when it burned down due to faulty construction. In 1827 Findlay became a village under the jurisdiction of Canton Township (now Muskegon Heights). On November 15th of that year its charter was accepted by the General Assembly of Ohio as an incorporated town with no less than thirty-six members: twenty men appointed by Mayor John Auld and six others elected at large including one chosen jointly by both mayors. Town meetings were held monthly with business conducted orally unless there was unanimous consent to record minutes which were kept for three years before being published twice annually along with any changes made during that time On March 8th, 1903 when villages within Dayton metropolitan area voted by referendum not to become cities they all reverted back to their respective townships except for Findlay which remained an unincorporated community under Dayton’s jurisdiction . In 1907 James Fendall Findlay founded what would become known as "Findlay" after himself - this act likely occurred because he believed that if name stuck then people would more likely visit or work here rather than go live elsewhere . With today’s technology we can see how prophetic this idea may have been as foundry production has steadily increased throughout much of America thanks largely to advances in digital printing technology Accordingly on October 7th 1909 City Council adopted Resolution No “An Act To Incorporate & Maintain Civic Order In & Over The Village Offindley” This Resolutionauthorized Mayor John Auld To Appoint A Committee To Serve As civic Officers For Four Years beginning January 1st 1910 & ending December 31st 1912 consisting Of One Hundred And Fifty Five Citizens Voted Into office At Which Time Meetings weren't Held Anymore But All Businesswas Conducted Openly By Telephone Before Being published Twice yearly With Any Changes Made At That Time Property Owners Wrote Up Their Plans To Build Houses Which Didn't Happen b/c There Was Banishment From City Hall After They Built More Than Once House B/C Too Many People Were Living Here Without WhatProperty Owners Called Spurious Claims About WhereThe Money Would Go . For These Reason council Approved An ordinance Amending Resolution No “An Act Making Findley An Incorporated Town” On November 15th 1909 When All But One Citizen Voted In Favorrageding Founder James Fendall Findlain Who Said He Wouldn't Mind If His NameWas Removed From Civic Officer List b/c He Wanted Some Things Done Right And Other Things Done Properly So Others Could Follow In His footsteps Like many other American small towns during prohibition era Toledo saw an increase in businesses opened until law enforcement could close them down citing morals issues such as liquor sales going beyond state lines while citizens did not have access to alcohol legally either meaning individuals could purchase or consume alcohol without consequence This led directly into problems for residents who couldn't work because unable to buy food or drink they resorted towards illicit activities such as prostitution causing further social unrest which lead finally into prohibition era riots
