It was founded by fur traders and early settlers in 1796 as a trading post on the Scioto River. The name "Findlay" is derived from an Iroquois word meaning "place where there are many fish". The city's namesake, General George Washington Butler (1751–1824), served as its first mayor and later as US consul general to Peru. In 1801, Butler also founded what would become one of Ohio's two largest banks—the First National Bank of Cleveland—and became one of its first directors. He also played an important role in developing Cleveland into a major center of transportation and commerce following the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825. In 1850, construction began on Euclid Avenue – now part of downtown – which would eventually become one of Ohio's most famous shopping streets. The city's population exploded during the late 19th century due to new industrial development and rapid agricultural growth; Findlay soon became known as "the breadbasket of America." During World War II, Findlay was home to several large manufacturers including GE Aviation and Ford Motor Company plants; however, much industry closed down after 1945 due to plant closures throughout Europe and Japan following World War II. Today, Findlay remains a manufacturing center with significant contributions from retail trade and services such as real estate development.

To make these cannons more efficient, artillery manufacturers developed a new type of ammunition called shot balls. Shot balls were made from small pieces of metal that were fired at high velocities by detonating them over a small area on anvil. This caused the ball to ricochet off different surfaces and create multiple explosive rebound shots that could damage or kill targets. In 1795 French engineer Claude Monet designed a cannon that used green gas cartridges instead of shot for its artillery shell! These shells createdches had to be reloaded frequently because they required ignition by firing again after being left idle for too long
The first automatic rifles were designed in the late 1800s by George Armstrong and patented in 1892. The design was based on a repeating rifle that had been used by the British military for many years. A new type of ammunition was developed, called Automatic Rifle Ammunition (ARAM). In 1907, Winchester Arms Company began production of ARAM rounds. In 1915, Winchester introduced a newly designed cartridge known as the Super Match round. This cartridge featured a redesigned bullet that allowed it to penetrate deeply into armor and enemy targets. It became one of the most successful weapons ever manufactured by Winchester. By the early 1920s, ARAM ammo had become well-known throughout the world. However, World War II led to increased demand for this ammunition, which caused its prices to increase significantly. By 1945, all production of Automatic Rifle Ammunition had ceased due to concerns over wartime shortages. However, interest in this ammunition persisted and some companies continued development of new cartridges specifically designed for ARMs such as Browning Hi-Velocity rounds and even modernized versions of Baby Eagle AP rounds
Findlay, Ohio is a small town in Northwest Ohio. The population was 4,841 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Summit County and part of the Dayton-Middletown metropolitan area. The first settlers in Findlay were farmers who arrived in 1798. In 1814, the village was incorporated as a town under the name of Lebanon. Findlay had a population of 1,500 when it lost its charter to become Summit County on November 3, 1821. When Dayton became an independent city on January 1, 1827, Findlay became its Municipal Court and jailer. The courthouse burned down in 1865 and was replaced by a new building which still stands today (See photo). Theodus Molineux founded what is now Molineux Dairy Company in 1902 with five cows and two horses. The company grew to over seventy-five cows and fifty horses before it merged with another dairy company in 1959 to form Deneb Products Incorporated (Deneb). In 1963 Deneb sold its assets to General Foods Corporation for $1 million which led to the nickname "the world's largest food producer." In 1977 General Foods Corporation merged with Procter & Gamble plc., creating GFC International Incorporated (GFI) which remains one of America's leading consumer products companies today. In recent years there has been much development taking place around Findlay including: 1) A new shopping center called Place One opened in 2007 just south of downtown; 2) A new hospital called Midland Health Partners opened in 2009; 3) A large manufacturing plant known as Horizon LLC announced plans to build a factory next door to Place One; 4) A major redevelopment project known as Gateway Village began construction adjacent to Place One in 2011; 5) And finally, construction continues apace on Riverwalk Drive which will include an arena/entertainment complex built by Richard Garriott®, CEO of Star Wars fame!
