In 1895 Colt decided to sell its patents to Winchester Repeating Arms Company who then began producing additional models of revolvers under the Winchester name with different grip sizes (Thin Thumb etc.), different calibers (12 gauge vs .45ACP), left-hand or right-hand draw capability (with hammer or without), safety features (locking breech/berglock system), etcetera until 1911 when Winchester merged with Browning Corporation creating America's most famous handgun manufacturer - Browning Incorporated! Fairview Park is located on the eastern edge of Hamilton County and is bordered by the communities of Brooklyn and Bedford Township to the north, Portsmouth to the east, and Oxford Township to the south. The township was organized on November 3, 1814 from parts of Bedford Township and Portsmouth Township. The first settler in Fairview Park was Ebenezer Cook. In 1833 Fairview Park became part of Defiance Township. On March 15, 1857,Fairview Park incorporated as a village. The village had a total population of 372 at its incorporation but it declined in population until it peaked at 447 in 1980 before declining again to 375 at its latest count. The park became a part of Hamilton County when it was created on April 14, 1907 from portions of Defiance and Portsmouth Townships. It has been called "the heartland of Hamilton County" because much of its economic activity takes place within close proximity to Cincinnati (10 miles) or Dayton (25 miles). In early 2017 plans were made for a major redevelopment project that would include an expansion into Fairview Park's Village Hall which would house up to 400 residents with access to all types of amenities including health club/exercise equipment/Gymnasium/Lawn care facilities as well as retail space for local businesses like convenience stores/grocers as well as housing developments for low-income families with outreach programs providing assistance such as job training or affordable housing opportunities

The neighborhood is bounded by Euclid Avenue on the north, St. Clair Avenue on the east, Superior Street on the south, and Lakeshore Boulevard on the west. The name Fairview Park was given to the area by George Fairchild after he bought land in 1892 for development into a residential community. At first, only wealthy white people lived in Fairview Park; but over time it became an increasingly diverse community with African Americans and Asian Americans living there as well. In 1912, Fairview Park was annexed by Cleveland along with other neighborhoods such as Shaker Heights and Elyria. The annexation made FairVIEW PARK one of Cleveland's most racially mixed areas. Over time, many of the homes in Fairview Park were replaced by new developments; however, some older buildings remain standing today as part of several small parks that make up the neighborhood.
The Township of Fairview Park was established in 1802 and named for George Fairview, a landowner. The first school in the township was built in 1843. The first post office in the township was founded in 1859. The township was organized as a part of to the county of Cuyahoga on November 2, 1875. The population of the township decreased from its peak during World War II due to the war and migration to other parts of Ohio. However, since 2000, there has been an increase in population growth due to new development and job opportunities withinFairview Park's borders.
